and why do space marines do not field auto cannons in there devastor squads /dreadnoughts , i know you can buy them form forge world but that means to field them you have to buy imperal armor book
and i look at dreads as more of a fire support unit
please fill me in because iam must me missing something
I had quite a hard time reading what you said. So, I'm guessing others will as well.
Terminators: Assault cannons are high strength, high firepower, and rending. You can only shoot one weapon per turn, making missile launchers and their single shot/blast weak.
Dreadnoughts: The two variants used are kitted for either Troop killing or Tank Killing. There is no sense in taking a model with a short range and a long range weapon as if you are assaulted you won't have any attacks (because of the missile launcher) and you have wasted the long range punch. The AC/CCW is good for assaulting, you get a few decent powered shots off then you still have your amazing strength for combat. The TWLC/ML variant can be used as firepower support the whole game. Why waste your strength by taking a ML just to put your Dread 2 turns away from being assaulted?
Auto-Cannons would be nice, but GW decided to take them from us. It's their game and they can our toys away if they wish.

Righto. I can tolerate a large amount of the abuse of the english language, but your use is no within my tolerance limit.
Also, please a) phrase your question better, and b) use the search function, you'll find plenty more answers, instead of cluttering up the forum. As such, this thread is redundant.
Have you seen their profile? 4 Assault cannon shots is SO much better than a single Frag or Krak Missile. The only advantage the missiles have is range, and it only matters in Deathwing armies.please tell me whats so great about assult cannons on termys when u can out fit them with missle luanchers and strombolter
How dare you doubt Assault cannons on Termies? If everybody says that, then a lot of us here is nobody. You're looking at 5-6 peoples' opinions and thinking it's everybody?and why dose every body say TWLC and ML for dread or CCA and AC for dread like why is the hellfire dread nought armerment ML,AC used every offten
I am a full advocate for Lascannon, Flamer, and CCW on Ven Dreads. That or Multi-melta/Assault Cannon & missile launcher in a drop pod. Every Dread config has a use. You've got to grow the initiative to figure them out for yourself. Nobody will ever say to use what they don't think works, and they decide that by playing and surviving. And? If you really want those Autocannons you'll do it. I know a guy who bought a Battleforce box set for the kneeling Marine legs. You have no idea how easy it is to decide to do so. Even then it's not that expensive, If you can afford Forgeworld stuff, you can afford a pamphlet.and why do space marines do not field auto cannons in there devastor squads /dreadnoughts , i know you can buy them form forge world but that means to field them you have to buy imperal armor bookThat's because they are a support unit. Able to be kitted out to fit many roles. Mainly they are a fire-support unit because they can shoot more stuff while moving, but they are still a monster in CQC and all around a great unit.and i look at dreads as more of a fire support unit
Saying you see a Dread as a fire support unit goes without say, look at the big guns the box comes with (no Multi-melta, which sucks).
