I hope this is the right forum, but here goes.
My trait army is a close combat drop pod orientated army.
The fluff is yet to be written but in a nutshell is, theyrs a SM chapter that fell under the lure of the chaos undivided, through a chance incounter with the emperor champion some of the chapter remembered theyr past and the zeal with which they fough for the emperor etc etc They steal bear certain things such a spikes on the armour and such since it does nothing to hinder them, the emperor however is wary of the chapter and has yet to bestow upon them new vehicles and armour, this leaves most of them using old versions of power armour and old versions of rhinos etc.
The reason i chose this was because i have an vanilla marine army from 2-3 edition (Woo ak bolters )
Basically i have all the old vehicles and that so I thought maybe I could theme it around that fact.
Basically, would it be allowed for me to make the army and include chaos marines? (all the iconography filed off, just the spikes there to show that they were once chaos, and since a space marine is honour bound to his armour, he does not want to damage it in removing them.) Just say basic marines really, not anything fancy like terminators. No mutations etc.
Also am i correct in saying that they can have no special characters marneus, emp champ etc?
P.s sorry for type errors etc, tired :shifty:
Can you do it? Sure! It is a game...bring the models you have to the table and play! Is it wierd and unorthodox? yes, but so what?!Originally Posted by silentdeathz
You could not have any of the already created special characters, but you can come up with your own. Just stat him out like most others (WS5 BS5 I5 W3) and give him some fancy wargear (that you pay for, of course). A little fluff and there you go.
I can NOT imagine any other chapter trusting these guys, I can't imagine that a hundred inquisitors and all thier lackeys won't come and destroy this chapter...but I will give you this... it is original!
If you came with this army to the store where I play, you would have no trouble getting games or even entering a tourney. Of course, special characters need to be approved by your opponent.
That's my 2 cents!
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
So long as you don't use anything out of the Chaos codex, you're free and good to go. Spikey Marines all pre-hearesy style. xD
Seems like i'm going to have a field day ehh
Wanted an original army, and I think the fact that they have old vehicles and older versions of armour mainly shows that the emperor and other =][= have doubts as of the loyalty of the chapter, but when I do get some new things cough lovely new assault marines cough They are obviously converted from other chapters, yet to think of how that works though
Cool. Maybe a few of the other chapters who are around decided they weren't all that bad and 'donated' (read secretly gave) them some more modern armour/equipment.
"Thousand Sons! Fight in the Emperor's name!"
DA :8/5/7 Eldar:3/3/5 1KSons:3/1/2
That could work, but I think that unless the Emperor allowed a space marine would not go behind his back.Originally Posted by UnderDarkLord
Props to you for:
1) Coming up with an original idea
2) Not having said idea involve overpowered units with uber-goofy written all over it.
I can't tell you how refreshing it is to play somebody who comes up with a cool idea (that doesn't invovle 290 point special characters they've created) and excecutes it in their army/ models.
Of course, I'm easily impressed. I'm happy most of the time just to play somebody who isn't fielding primer marines.
We all carry on,
When our brothers in arms are gone.
So raise your glass high
For tomorrow we die,
And return from the ashes you call.
