Hi all! Yeah, I'm new, so if this has been anwsered a million times, I apologize.
I recently came into possession of a 2500 point Armored Column army. It consists of:
1 Command Tank - Leman Russ Vanquisher
2 Tank Aces - Leman Russ Exterminators
4 Tank Troops - Leman Russ Battle Tanks
4 Sentinels with autocannons
1 Demolisher with plasma cannons
Being new to Imperial Guard, I've been trying to read up as much as I can to become familiar. However I keep running into problems with Army Builder. Regardless of what Doctrines I choose I keep getting errors saying the list isn't valid, but it's not telling me why.
I'm looking to use the following doctrines:
1) Ace Sponsoon Gunners
2) Ace Gunners
3) Rare Troops - Vanquisher
4) Rare Troops - Exterminator
Is anyone familiar with my problem? Is this a bug, or am I doing something silly when setting up my list?
Thank you in advance!
What version of armybuilder are you using?
It is not simple to make the datafiles for that program and even more so for a race that can have so much variations.
There are programs to edit and make datafiles, but imo they are not that simple to use.
Me myself am ambitious to make a datafile for the new Tau empire for as long that there doesn't exist one.
When the software works, i find it very easy and informative. You get all the info in an orderly manner, with checking ,references and such.
I have seen that some datafiles draw info from others, so it gets pretty complecated with all the cross references.
I did manage to correct some mistakes such as the price for a Tyrannic veteran and the price for a Grey Knight dreadnought( an issue with a weapon not being calculated, making the selection too cheap). The problem lies a bit with the codex. The space marine codex states the price with the weapon, the deamonhunters' without. To make it consistent with the codex, they made a mistake as in one codex the prices are stated as the extra you need to pay, whereas in the latter it states the full price.
Best is to check for datafiles on the net. Or through the official site of the software manufacturer, as you can find groups that make such datafiles, you can see if the problem is known and that the are working on it, or where you can address the problem to them to fix it.

Hmm.... sounds like you are trying to use Army Builder in liu of bying the codex. I'm sure if you were to take a gander in your codex it would tell you what is going wrong. If you can't figure it out, then write your list by hand.
Army builder is NOT a substitute for the codex.

I appreciate the jump to conclusions and assumptions that just because I like to use Army Builder that I'm in some way trying to "cheat" the system.
I have the IG codex, I've read it several times.
I have the AC codex located here: http://uk.games-workshop.com/imperia...c-armylist.pdf and I've read THAT several times.
Good news is the only person with any useful, helpful information (Vindicator) was right. My data files were corrupt. I got new versions and it works like a charm.
