Now, with the current SM codex got rid of the good razorback options ('multi melta', and the good ol 'lascannon and twin linked plasma gun') however with IAV2 we can still use multi melta razorbacks. Does anyone still use these? do they have potential? or are they overshadowed by the TLLC?

TLLC has better range, accuracy, and armor pen (unless you get within 12"), that's probably why they dropped the melta. Probably the reason why the melta got dropped as an arm option for the dread as well. Melta just can't compete unless you get pretty close (not very likely with only AV11 and not a fast vehicle).

Actually, you still get the Multi-melta for dreds.
As for the options being dropped... something about limiting options to the box (though weird since multi-melta is still around for dreds) and ... I dunno.

That, and the multi-melta is just too short-ranged to be effective. The fact that it isn't twin-linked means you miss more often (and melta-weapons have a tendency of missing), and its short range means you will be left vulnerable after you have shot...
