I would like to ask what the difference is between SM, CSM, blood angels, dark angels, and the dozens of other custom chapters of SM. If someone could clear that up fer me that would be great. Thanks.

csm are chaos, they are not part of the imperium, blood angels are cc sm's that have to charge and have other special rules, dark angels are fluffwise lone wolves that don't usually help anybody else, and sm's are sometimes referred to as vanilla marines, they don't have any special rules, but chapters like space wolves, BT, salamanders and others have special rules, alot of these are found in the sm codex, armageddon codex, and EoT

there is alot of variance between the SM's themselves and the CSM or Chaos.
Firstly most SM's vary to certain degrees from the Standard Marines i.e Ultramarines. From there you get the Blood Angels which are very HtH focused and have a set of there own rules to follow, then you go to the other end of the spectrum the Dark Angels which are very Gun focused employing heavy weapons more frequently and doubling that with there speedy Ravenwing.

From there I cant talk with much experience about Chaos as I dont play them but i do know, when you go Khorne you go HtH. I know the Iron Warriors are the Big Long Rangers in Chaos, and that the Black Legion is pretty much Chaos's equivalent to the Ultramarines.

    Hope it Helps

Hey guys just to clear things up this kid is like the ultra newbie of the century. He just got interested last night at my house. He has no idea what these acronyms stand for so just keep that in mind. Anyways he is a stupid poser.(from my name) Anywho he wants to play but he says the game is too expensive because he doesnt have any money. So advice for him would be good.

well phoenix5 i remeber when you were a noob so dont be like that, really dont. yes i was around and saw your first post.

To find the differences maybe look at there codexs, for the "normal" chapters you might also wantto look in index astartes.

    Edit: Now its spelled right!

    hee.....hee....turd..........heee

Anyway just do a little research. If you aren't willing to look into things then you proably won't enjoy the hobby so much. Try a local game store. All the guys in my area LOVE to talk about the hobby and you can pick up alot of info from them.

Yah, a good way is look in the rulebook of 40K, it gives abit of fluff and the rules and all. I think that Phoenix5 should stay out of this forum if he is just going to insult people and he doesnt even have a 40K army, atleast if he has, he hasnt stated it.

yeah phoenix5 and all his friends (i dont know how many there are, there like 3 or 4 bye now) seem to be either spammers, retards, or ***holes (in goofymovies case, all o the above). But most stores let you flip through there codex's, and ask around, theres enough SM players you can get any infomation you could want, and more.

    Ps: Pheonix5, go to hell
