does anyone play a BT army that just maxes out on foot squads with dreads for tank busting?
Does it work?
how do you win?

I sometimes play two units of 15 men each with a chaplain w/ 3 cenobyte servitors, two units of 6-man las/plas squads, and two deep striking dreads in 1250 +/- pts games, and they work wonders.
Deployment is really important, though, as you have to make sure that you only allow one or two Neophytes to get shot at from each squad so they can rush forwars with the chaplain & CS. If I get a good deployment, I'll often let my opponent go first to rush them forwards and sometimes (when I'm really lucky) get a first round charge, but always a second round charge.
Hope this helps.

Yep it really works.
I use 4 10 men squads and let them rush forward. This way I make sure at least 2 effective units make it to the other side.
I use 1 dread and 1 predator for tank busting and swarm killing. For me it is a really effective mix.

I play against a BT guy that usually uses 2 squads of 15 to 20 guys, has 3 cenobyte servitors in one group, has a chaplain in both units, and one of the units has the Emperor's Champion in it. Such a simple tactic, but I have yet to find a way to neutralize it. I usually get the first squad down to about half strength before it charges, perhaps even smaller. But it still causes enough trouble that by the time I deal with it, the second squad is coming at me still pretty much at full strength. then of course a las/plas squad or some Predator Annihilators w/ HB sponsons . . . yeah, it works VERY well. I have to play a very solid game myself simply to break even with him when he does this.
And remember, because of their righteous zeal movement, Black Templar's are basically designed to be a footslogging army. I mean, its what they DO. And they do it very well.
I would much prefer to play vs. 4 squads of 10 rather than 2 squads of 20 each. The 4 squads would be much easier to divide and manipulate. Not so with 2 larger squads.
