Ok guys i present you with an idea, ive been lookign for an unusual army for a whiel and ive finally found it, its basdically the IG list with DH and WH allies most usign count as rules:
Basic unit ideas:
- greyknights = greyknights or legio custodes
- inquisitors = sisters of silence, general inquisitors, tech priests,
- storm troopers = storm troopers, skitari (and my favourite) arbites (with a chimera squad car )
- tanks = represented by thier official models and all manner of adeptus mechanicus concoctions
so basically it takes most aspects of the imperium and combiens them into a single army with "count as" rules...
so my questions are:
-woudl a list liek this work?
-any other "count as" ideas?
Thanks in advance Chax
So no ideas or anything guys? im shocked!
I think sisters would be good to represent sisters of silence. Arco flaggellants would represent some AdMech craziness, and arbites with a priest to lead them could be used to represent skitarii assault squads. Inquisitors are great if you want something unique as they can basically represent any character you want.
Oh yeah, and using a different (suitably AdMechy and nightmarish) model to represent the Exorcist would be cool.
Just some random thoughts.I thought you could? Well, I can't remember and I can't be bothered checking, but I thought so.Your idea fails here. You can only have Daemonhunter or Witchhunter allies.
You can do that legally, but not how you want to.
You have to take either WH/SOB or DH/GK as the main army, then you can induct IG units, then you can allie the last one.
This is how Id do it if I were you:
Parent Army: Witchhunters (this works well because thier Stormtroopers unit can have Shotguns, and thus you get Adeptus Arbites) with Inducted Imperial Guard units like sentinals and such.
Allied Army: Grey Knights (these work well as the allies because due to thier high cost per model you wont be taking many, but if you DO plan on taking lots of GKs I woulduse them as the main force)
so..yeah, like that.
You actually can have BOTH DH and WH allies in a single army, read the rules a bit more closely about that. Neither of those allied contingents may use inducted troops though - so you cannot use this to get an IG force with allied DH & WH and inducted SM - you're stuck with just three of the four Imperial forces.
An army pretty much like this was featured in the UK White Dwarf this month, so somebody beat you to it! The guy in the article pretty much scratch built squads of Legio Custodes! He used Dark Eldar sprues with SOB heads for the Sisters of Silence, and Space Marines (or parts of), Lots of Green Stuff, Plasticard and High Elf helmeted heads for the heads.
Buy it and take a look for some ideas.
