Hey, I don't play space marines but this question has come up at my game shop and I thought I'd ask here. I know Librarians can take familiars, which boost their initiative. But my question is, how many familiars can a librarian take?
The shop owner was going on about how he was going to take seven or eight familiars and have an initiative of 11, and charge straight through cover and everything else. Is this possible? It didn't make sense to me.
Clarify this please.
Thanks in advance,

It sounds more like he was joking...
Just so you have it in case it comes up, tell him to look in the SM Codex on page 22. The paragraph at the top of the list of wargear has the answer on how many familiars a Librarian can take (answer is one).

Slightly off topic, but can you even go above 10 on your stats?

The shop owner is a fool. Ignore whatever he says.
And the only attributes that can go above 10 are W, A, & Ld.[*]In theory something could have more than 10 wounds... But Shouldn't.[*]13th Co. Wolf lord with Mark of the Wulfen, WHatever else, and some psychic powr or other is the only legal >10A state I know of.[*]A unit with Ld10 and the +1 Modifyer for having no enemies in sight for Regrouping purposes.
That's all I can think of.
