Chem-Inhalers with a vox network.
Thats what I'm thinking of using to keep my troops around. I'm collecting a mech force with around 60 infantry so keeping these alive and on the bord is important. Especially seeing as I intend to use my basic infantry to hold objectives. Is this too much? Would I be better off dropping one of these?
Having both is way too expensive for infantry, go either inhalers or vox. Whats good about vox is that you can make an expensive HQ and give Ld10 to all your squads, on the other hand inhaler simply lets you wave the 75% shooting casualty penalty for pinning instead of forcing to fall back. In my opinion, I hate trying to reduce penaltieswith iron discipline, inhalers ect, instead I just go for passing the Ld test and you can very easily do that with Ld10 value, also it gives your squads very good mobility so they can operate independently not just 12" from the nearest officer. Overal you get better results with vox, inhaler is there only for fluff reasons.
Chem inhalers are expensive and deliver very little. You don't run away but being pinned is almost as bad. Just utilise your officers with Iron Discipline and you'll be fine with a minimal extra cost in points.
