Im trying to make a sm chapter heavely based on the raven guard my traits would be. Be swift as the wind and Blessed be the warrior. Major drawback flesh over steel. Heavy on bikes, speeders, scouts and assault squads. I just need to find a name with raven. Ive seen this guys Sm chapter named the raven knigts. Somewere in that idea thx 4 the help. Any tips on playing the army would also be appriceated:yes:
Note: Dont have codex with me, past it to my friend.(
Im used to writhing in french:cry:
raven bikes! im kidding, try raven flight (as they are a pack of bikers)
Personally I would just go with the Raven Gaurd chapter instead of switching it up. Merely for the benefit of taking Shrike & Shrike's wing, which is an Uberpowerful assault squad(though expensive).
Aside from that how about The Battle Ravens, or War Ravens.
For tactics, it looks like your building a pretty heavy flanking army (bikes/assault squads).
The real trick to playing that kind of army is knowing where to strike. You have to really identify your opponents weak spots, where your unit's abilities will be most effective. Your bikes will be fairly good at tank hunting if equiped correctly, but your opponents will usually recognize this as well. Sometimes you'll want to have some units sacrifice themselves to force your opponent to spread his army out more, giving your fast units access to the juicy parts, without worry of getting counter-charged.
I actually do this with my imperial gaurd. I use my base unit of troops as "shoot me!" target while I draw his units out with my sentinels and a peculiarly placed tnak or two(placed to get a lucky shot or two off and force his force unit to move, to get either a good shot or out of the way)
Once he/she is spread out enough, I rush in from the side with chimeras loaded with veterans&stormtroopers kitted out to take out any heavy/elite unit they encounter (tanks/command units whatever)
Your current build won't allow alot of tanks of course, so you could try it with a maxed unit of scout snipers(everybody hates those) and maybe a whirlwind. place them well to make your enemy move, then rush in with your assault units and rip 'em a new one.
Against armies faster than you (nids/speedfreaks etc.), put your shooty units in one place, with good LOS. A big juicy target, weeee. Fast armies always go for your shooty units (they're usually considered the biggest threat). this makes them very susceptible to a large flanking maneuvre or a massive counter-charge (or better yet, both!).
Nids seem to fall for this every time, maybe it's just my opponents.
my 2 cents.

"The world will be a better place when the world's resources are used for Giant Robots."
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
Well, we can give you a bit more help if you give us a little insight on the background of the chapter.
Sticking to the knight idea.
-Mounted Ravens (bike idea)
This is one I came up with.
Don't forget that Raven is an elaborative term for black, so you could go with:
Just some thoughts.
Before I chose Ravenclaws as my chapter name, I considered these.
ones that don't have raven in it
