Ive been thinkin, and I think I am going to use dreds for all my long range support, i.e. hellfire variation. They can move though cover w/o having a chance to be immobilised. Then for close combat support Im goin to use vindicators, and Baal preds. How does it sound?Oh yeah it would be good to tell yall I play a BA chapter.

go for it. but i still don't think you could see me behind those trees saturday:cry:
Those who live be the pen die by those who live by the sword. Those who live by the sword die by those who live by the gun. Which one do you live by.

Other than that, sounds good. I have a mate who plays wolves like that, to make up for lack of heavy weapons in tacticals.
Dreadnoughts in a BA army are counted as Heavy Support choices so be carefull you're not exceding your limit of stuff. I honestly don't like tanks in a BA army at all with the exception of the Baal. Normal tanks have the chance of raging and being unable to fire all their weapons when you need to. Wakers on the other hand gain the benefits of furious charge and are much more flexible when it comes to raging. Even though a dread may rage, it can still fire all its weapons and have a much larger charge radius which can mean headaches for your opponents infantry. Think about it, rage , fire all guns, charge. You just moved up to 12 inches, fired all your weapons and tore apart that poor group of infantry that thought it would take you two turns to reach them. Keep in mind you can upgrade one of your dreads to a venerable and allow it to reroll the damage table which can save you sooooo much. WALKERS RUUULE!!!

Depends on the situation, but I play a mobile army so I have to say tanks... Like the Vindicator and Predator since they are the only mobile tanks that don't cost an arm and a leg (I'm looking your way Crusader).

I agree. i have a furioso and a standard dread. I really like my Baal preadator much more. I might even get another. They can kill a lot of stuff. Also I find the thing that kills BA the easiest are Nids and eldar. A Baal lets to have some more moble fire power and range which the BA are lacking.
If you build a man a fire he will be warm for a night. If you set a man on fire he will be warm the rest of his life.
I think walkers win over tanks. Like you said Hubcap, they can move through terran without getting stuck. And sence your BA it would be better to have the Baal. So like maybe like 2 Baals and 1 Hellfire. Sence your mostly a CC army, it would be best to have things move up with your army than standing back and shoot.
All religion, my friend is simply evolved out of fraud, greed, imagination and poetry.

Walkers have to take a dangerous terrain test, just like tanks. I don't have my BGB with me, so cannot give you the appropriate page number, but I will when I get home.
Walkers do not take dangerous terrain tests but they do take Difficult Terrain tests like infantry units.

Therefore please include at least 2 or so lascannon-toting tactical squads for some backup tank hunting in case those dreds go boom! Or include some MM LSs. i'm not saying that u shouldn't take Dreds, it's just that it's unwise to rely 100% on those old marines in their armoured sarcophagi!
That said, i would like to say that Baals are the best Heavy Support Choice for BA, period. They can kill ANYTHING with their guns and provide excellent covering fire for ur jump troops and CC scouts.
And IMO AV13 is at least as good as AV12 venerable, coz even if u get glanced, u wont be able to fire for another turn...and those vehicles' firepower is too good to be wasted. So try to include AT LEAST one Baal before considering the other Heavy choices.
Just my two cents,
