If any one fields a razorback can you please tell me whats on it, what you to transport with it, and what weapons does the squad have thats in it.
In one of my lists I have my kitted out HQ Techmarine in it. That's about it. I put the storm bolter on there and depending on whether I think I'll need anti-tank or anti-infantry I swap the turret out. Generally I stick with the TL HB as that same list has 2 ML Dev Squads and long range dreadnought. I put smoke launcher's on it because I had a few extra points to spare. I have yet to use them. I also highly recommend putting the dozer blades on it.
I like using it with my shooty list because I can move it forward and block LoS to my Dev Squads from other long range shooters. I don't keep my techmarine in it long as it becomes a fire magnet. If you put the TL LC on it you'll find it becomes more of a target priority than the heavy bolter turret.

Ive got one with a storm bolter, heavy bolter, and smoke launchers. I use it to get my command squad as close to the enemy as possible, before becoming too risky, then I get my troops to bail out. After it is empty, I usually use it to harrass light, poorly armed infantry. once the command squad is out of the razorback, I really dont care if the thing explodes, since it has completed its goal.
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
My current marine list is a TECH HQ list, that's a standard marine force. LD 8 across the board is sooo much more fun=)
2 assault bikes, 2 landspeeders, and the rest troops and devastator 6 man squads in standard HB razorbacks. I run 6 lascannons on my 6 tactical marines, and HBs on my vets and devastators.
No smoke, no armour. Just naked.
Makes for an interesting game.
Everyone is always stunned when I'm rolling LD 8. Sure I could bump it to to and save points in the meantime but then it's not fluffy.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
HB, stormbolter, armour and smoke. It rushes forward a turn, then on the next turn it barely moves and unleashes its squad. The squad hits their target with bolters and plasma, and then the razorback adds its HB and bolter to the mix. It usually survives since my Grey Knight termies, assault squad, Pred, heavy weapon tactical squads and Rhino squad tend to make more interesting targets. It is underestimated all the time since it only has six guys in it. It pops smoke the first turn it moves by the way, unless it gets behind something.

Lascannon, HK missle and smoke on the first and HB, SB and smoke on the second.
Both have an optional (attachable/dettachable) dozer blade.
The las-back carries a 5-man with plasmacannon & meltagun. And the HB-back carries a 5-man lascannon & plasmagun squad (drives around it more like, they rarely need to move).
I intend to add 2 more sometime next year.

No, razorbacks are pretty much crap.
Well, I could see bringing one in a list where everything was either a tank or mounted in a tank, but, then, I think most versions of that sort of list are pretty much crap, too.
So, no. I don't take razorbacks.
I field a razorback, completely naked for my Blood Angel Army. It usually hold my force commander with a plasma pistol and power sword, and a 5 man squad armed with a hidden powerfist and melta gun. First turn I charge straight to a piece of terrain where I have LOS of one unit but making sure that my razorback is safe from anti-vehicle weapons, but is also close enough to the enemy for my marines to come out on the next turn and charge them. on my second turn, pour out the marines, move towards the enemy, roll my blood angel's trait of black rage, get as close as i can, shoot the melta gun, the plasma pistol once, and the heavy bolter into the unit, then charge them.

I don't really use Razorbacks much. If I want fire support, I'll go with a Predator, or other heavy support option. If I need a transport, I'll use a Rhino, Drop Pod, Land Raider, ect.
However, when I do use them I like have a small tactical squad of 6 total marines. Put them into the Razorback, speed into position, and let them out. Give the tactical squad a special/heavy weapon(s) and both the Razorback and tactical squads can shoot away. I find it a pretty good fire support unit as a whole.
Some people put a Techmarine in Servitors in it as well.
As for upgrades, I always give it smoke launchers and extra armor. They're two cheap upgrades that can extend the lifetime of your Razorback, and squad that it may be carrying. Upgrades weapon wise, take the heavy bolter if your going up against an army with lots of hoardy elements, and the lascannons if you'll be up against lots of armor. Generally, though, I go with the heavy bolters. The Lascannons are expensive, anyway.
