Hello everyone, upon seeing the "witch weapon do you fear most thread" i thought ide ask, Witch infintry unit do you fear most.
Sisters of Battle. If you've read the "Female Gamers", 126 post long, thread in the General Hobby forum, you know Warhammer players have no clue how to work with woman.
Seriously, a carinfex. T7, 5 wounds, 2+ save, regenerate, that thing just won't die! (I know it's not infantry, but it might as well be when your oppentent takes them as elites and heavy support)
Terminators deep striking or necrons.....they mash up guardsmen pretty effiently...
"This sure ain't no pansy Eldar Armor, Son"
185th Cadian Armored Div.
"One Shot, One Kill"
Western Border Patrol of Athel Loren
Any kind of marine..... they tear up gaurdsmen without even being bothered by the wimpy little guns the gaurd have.
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
Striking Scorpions are really bad for Guardsmen. Many attacks, hi initiative, damn Mandiblasters. Most of those units are bad though if you if they get in, and my experience is that a good Eldar general with a Wave Serpent has a good chance of doing just that.
"A love for tradition has never weakened a nation, indeed it has strengthened nations in their hour of peril."

Gaunts, with that annoying 12" charge range. Thats what I find most threatening on this list. Most of the other stuff isn't too much of a worry.
I generally have enough time to head off the more dangerous SM squads with my plasma/leman russ/massed fire to not worry about these. Striking scorpions, sisters of battle, genestealers, etc all fit in this catagory. And as for terminators, I love it when they deepstrike nearby! At most i'll lose one squad or a tank, and in response I can concentrate my entire firing line on them - they'll never survive that! Same goes for swooping hawks.
The fact that masses of gaunts can, in two turns, fleet of foot twice plus normal move twice plus 12" charge into my lines is a massive threat. Even though I can normally wipe them out in hth with superior numbers/hth specialists, by the time that happens the rest of the nids could be about to join them in the bloodbath. Thats why they are a worry to me.
They just move so damn fast for a basic troop! So I guess that many dark eldar forces fit in here as well, but I didn't vote for them simply as I dont tend to face off against many DE armies.
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
Sorry, I don't play guard but I still voted like I was using my normal armies (Daemonhunters/tyranids). I put slugga boys because I can never kill enough of them before combat, and my friend plays cult of speed so they are where ever he needs them to be. There really is nothing worse than 20 boyz jumping out of a battle wagon to assault you...If you are not in cover you are finished because 80 attacks is just too many to deal with. I can only imagine that being worse for guard...especially if they can hit two or three of your squads from one assault.
Maybe its because I have GK Terms, but those Genestealers give me the shivers... rending on 6's... there are only so many 5's you can roll for you invulnerable... as for the gaurds.. well 5+ Save doesnt help much.
