if i want my army to be dark angels to i have to use those symbol things? cuz i didnt so does that make my army vanilla?
Nope, no problems.
To be honest, you could paint them bright pink and cover them with Tau decals and there's technically nothing stopping you from using whatever SM rules you like, so long as the army conforms to those rules. (the army would look really screwy, but that's pretty much it... )
Dark Angels are supposed to have those markings, but it's your army, you can do do whatever you want with the colors and markings.
thanx (+ rep) thats also good cuz my friend was painting mine and painted one all gold and one all silver lol. its looks alright becuz hes not all that good at painting but yeah its alright.
Honestly there is nothing really that states you have to have a chapter marking at all, i've made my own SM chapter and haven't come up with a good enough chapter symbol yet, so i've just left them without.
If you end up going to a tourny the only thing you really need to do to keep a rules lawyer out there happy is maybe give them some squad markings. (all i did was use painted on little white roman numerals to reperesent which squad they were in).
as previously said, its all up to you!
SON'S OF TERRA......... Your defeat, its the emperor's will
