I'm just curious if any of you guys has a unit that has had that one game in which it has over performed to the extreme. The other day I had a single squad of 10 crusaders and 10 neoptytes, one with a power fist. Kill 900 plus points in 6 turns. They whacked a dread, a squad of termies, plus an elpisotry that was attached, a landraider, a razor back and attached squad(at that point there were three models left ha ha) then moved on to finish a predator off, before they finally got wiped out. On that note have you ever had a unit(s) that has under performed horribly. I once lost an Emperors Champion, and a Marshal to a SINGLE grot. Sigh the dice gods are so very fickle.
Rheagar fought nobly
Rheagar fought valiantly
Rheagar fought honorably
And Rheagar died.
omg my condolences a grot...anyway i had my dreadnought take out a monolith first turn(go pens), then it took a deciever in the same game(1000pts) while all his warriors sat at the back and watched(haha phase out..*cough*wimp*cough*) and my chaplain(i  my chaplain) took out 2 squads of warriors, a lord and a squad of flayed ones by himself
my poorest performing model by far has to be my russ in 2 games it has killed 3 marines and one game it got shaken and weapon destroyed first turn and then destroyed next turn:cry:
JOIN MY SQUAD IN THE SONS OF THE LIBRARIUM THREAD, I NEED TACTICAL MARINES! I PLAN TO CONVERT UP A SQUAD TO "COUNT AS" LoTD IN MY SMarine ARMY
My Space marine Commander and apothecary. I stick the commander in with the command squad, and the squad takes some beating, untill all that is left is my Commander and the apothecary, then, somehow, the two of them manage to survive impossible odds. I allocate all the hits I can onto the commander, then with his 2+ save, bionics, and the apothecary, he is nearly immortal! (If I could, I would just ditch the entire command squad except for the apothecary)
I have also had some good luck with my 5 man assault squad, but that is much less consistant, for instance one game, they will kill 3x their points value, other games they will die before they can even get into combat. Then, there was one gave vs. Tau I played, got a lucky deep strike, and managed to sweep through his entire army. I had enough heavy weapons to keep him from spreading out too much, so the assault squad was able to move from one squad to another, slaughtering them. By then end of the game, they had killed everything except 4 firewarriors (who were taken out by frag launchers), and only lost one man.
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
my best performing unit surprisingly is my assault marine veteran sergeant w/ power fist. i had attached a chaplain to the squad of 10 marines and charged the IG line. that is the only unit i had on the board since the rest of my army is drop pods. only the vet sergeant survived and collided into the IG line. He killed 2 whole squads of storm troopers before the Heroic senior officer w/ power weap came and killed him. the best part was 20 guardsmen hitting at I3 couldn't kill a vet sergeant hitting at I1...
best unit: Techmarine HQ, fully kitted out, tore through half a LATD army by himself.
worst unit: a BA proxied dev squad for my IH army, they didnt hit **** the whole game
Best unit: a rhino that survived two railgun hits, a lascannon hit, dodged three plasma shots while the firers fried themselves, took out three firewarriors, a crisis suit, and a berserker lord with one wound left all in the same game. Of the eight turns of the game I think the worst it got was crew stunned from the railguns if thats even possible given that those things were made to take out all armour.
Worst unit: jump pack chappie with ten man asault squad with fisted sergeant (yeah this thing doesn't always prove to be that good.) They massacred the closest unit (twenty grots) and found out they were not in range to make it into anythging else; but the looted russ, looted demolisher, and dakkawagon of flash gitz did happen to have perfect line of sight of them. With no LOS blocking cover (or cover in that direction for that matter) or close combats to block LOS I doubt I need finish... [Biggest waste of points I've ever had since I used that termie chappie with no other termies in my army.]

oh yea, i forgot. my dreadnought dropped into the middle of a witch hunter force and ended fighting Sister Repentias lead by a priest. got melta-bombed and hit by a couple eviscerators and only got crew shaken at worst. thing is got hit by 4 or 5 penetrating hits!
Well, I have a slightly strange one one.
I nominate a Rhino! Specifically, my Opponent's Rhino!
I was using my Tau, him Space Wolves. I planted at least 50 Pulse Rifle HITS along with several Fusion Blaster hits, and nothing, ever, happened! I didn't roll a single 6, the Fusion blaster hits only ever seems the shake it.
Last I heard he was finishing the Rhino off and planned to model all the impact craters!
my jump chappie who massacred about 1.500 points of terminators without losing even 1 wound.
Don´t mess with the dicegod
I have a blood angels scout squad with a 4 sniper rifles, vet Srgt and a heavy bolter. One game the Vet Srgt went into the death company and the squad got madly shot at by two imperial guard heavy bolter squads. Only the my heavy bolter remained.
He black raged the next turn (can you blame him) and rolled a 6 for movement. My opponent had cleverly positioned a Sentinal in front of his command squad so he could be ready to counter assualt. So I move the Heavy bolter 6 black rage, 6 normal, and assault 5 inches. Hit the sentinal with a Str 5 furious assault roll a 6 for a penitrating hit, roll a 5 which becomes a 6 on the damage table. It blows up 4 inches and kills most of the HQ squad (and the heavy bolter scout). Not bad for an 18 point dude
