    Starting Imperial Guard

    Hi all im just wondering if this would make a gd starter force i havmnt got me codex but i know wot i want so ythat helps lol my oponents will be guard and tau:cry:

    Hq
    Junior officer-horifica imperialis,powerwep,iron disp
    Vet with standard
    Wep team with mortar
    1 Guard with lasgun

    Anti-tank Squad
    3 lascannons with sharpshooters

    Troops
    Platoon
    Junior officer-boltpistol,ccw,iron disp
    Wep team with mortar
    2 Guard with lasguns

    Squad 1
    Wep team with autocannon or heavybolter
    1 Guard with grnd launcher
    7 Guard with lasguns

    Squad 2
    Wep team with autocannon or heavybolter
    1 Guard with grnd launcher
    7 Guard with lasguns

    Grenadier Squad
    Serg with hellpistol, ccw
    2 ST with plasmaguns
    7 St with hellguns
    CHIMERA
    Multilaser,heavybolter,extra armour,smoke

    Heavy support
    Leman russ
    Hull heavybolter,sponsor hevaybolters,extra armour,smoke
    Pintlemounted heavy stubber

    so wot do you think will this make a good start for a guard army?

    Really nice start!

    There isn't much to critisize at all. I might change the Grenade Launchers to Plasma Guns and drop the Stubber on the Russ and add it to the Chimera (you can't shoot the Stubber if you shoot the Battle Cannon), but other than that.....

    For your next addition I would add two more Heavys. Either a Bassie and Demolisher or a Bassie and another Russ, or two Bassies. If you play on 4' x 6' tables or bigger Bassies are great, but if you play on 4'x4's I would stick to Demolishers and Russ's.

    Kool thanks well the reason im only useing grenade launchers at the min is so when i buy it all it wont cost me as mcuh as it will when i buy plasma guns lol well looks like i have found my starter force can any body tell me how many points it is altogether if its not against the rules of course??
