Right i just want a few tips as tomorrow i have to play 1500pts against a khornate CSM army with my Blood Angels, having never played them before im not too sure what to use.
I know he uses a lot of bezerkers and like expensive models, so im gona go with some largish tactical squads for a numbers advantage.
My main worry is his uber deamon prince of khorne, apparently its nasty so i need ideas on how to kill it.
So any suggestions on units that are effective?
So far im thinking:
Tactical Sqads and Scouts for numbers
Possible a Vindicator for wiping out Bezerkers and possibly hitting his DP - but im not sure as a defiler may cause problems
other than that im open to ideas. Especially on what characters to take, im considering a Librarian for his force weapon against the DP but im not sure.
Basically any tips, ideas or tactics would be nice.
And yes i read the Tactica sticky at the top of the forum.
*Twitch* Lots and lots of plasma, pistols, gun and canons, as many as you can get. Then you might want to consider a Dev squad with more plasma canons. The Vindicator might work, but you better hope you aren't unlucky 'cause its only one shot a turn. No matter what, you should stay away from the Demon Prince of doom. Those hurt if you aren't Grey Knight ally filled. If you have some, I would go for a Grand Master with Grimoire and Icon. Khorne means you will want to shoot shoot shoot, so a libie is okay, but not for the force weapon, you want him for storm and fury, because one has low AP and the other can hit a lot of units. A commander if you don't want to buy a libie. You shouldn't get scouts since they don't have any good power armour killing guns and tactical marines at least have power armour. Though you might grab a scout squad as a basic BP and CC squad of gap filling goodness, just use it as a decoy or use it to charge instead of being charged. Maybe a 5 man term squad with assault canons, but only if you have the extra points. And finally you might want to just hope, and no matter what, stay away from Berzerkers!!!

Well think about it. Close combat's weakness is a very shooty army.
Plan a whirl wind and a vindicator would be nice. Caution: If he has a greater daemon a vindicator might not be such a good choice because he has the power to rip that thing to shreads.:w00t:
Tactic: Lost of plasma or hb that would work really well.
A Librarian with jump-pack charging the monster ought to put it down, especialy with Furious Charge. Apart from that do anything you can to get charges/turns of shooting. I use small scout/Attack Bike squads as bait to get the charge.
Don't go charging his Khornates with Tac's though. You may be BA but you're still unlikely to win.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
Just out shot him. If you take a Libby thats fine, but you have to remember that odds are his DP will have a Collar of Khorne. He would have to roll a 1 in order to kill him out right with the force weapon. Other than that go with what the others have stated.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
Hmm... another one of these, huh? First, I'd like to ask that you use the Search function before posting, as we've had many a talk about how to deal with the World Eaters in the past.
To answer your question, though, there are a few units that you'll likely find to be very helpful.
- Vindicators (hide these behind cover and wait until the World Eaters get close. Drive out of cover and let them have it with the Demolisher Cannon. If you do it right, you should be able to blast massive chunks out of his units.
- Land Speeder Tornado (these are used to lead his Marines around on a merry chase, and can be used to annoy units with its assault cannon and heavy bolter.)
- Devastators (I'd personally rather give these missile launchers instead of plasma cannons, since a smart player will spread his models out, making it very hard to hit more than a single model with the blast template anyway. Plus, missile launchers don't overheat, and are cheaper.)
- Assault Marines (you want at least one unit of these to counter-charge any units that make it through the hail of bolter shells and plasma blasts that you're sending their way. Once they reach your unit, leap forward and charge them. A Chaplain will help a lot in this unit.).
That should help you a bit.
to firedrake28, remember hes playing blood angels, so basically he is close combat oriented, which also means the chaplain can't be part of the assault squad. For everyone who has mentioned devastator squads, theres a 1/6th chance of suffering of black rage movement, still worth a shot. Hmm to take down the Daemon Prince, i'd have to say go for at least two or three landspeeder tornadoes with multimetla and assault cannon combo, rendering with the assault cannon and strength 8th shots from the melta times three, should be able to cover it. Target priority is a must here, you either rapid fire or assault seeing that you do get the boost in strength and initative. Hidden powerfists will be a must if your making some tactical squads assault units and equip them with meltaguns, at least take one guy down before you charge in. I'd probably drop the vindicator and get a baal predator, more rendering shots into infantry. I'm assuming you do have a chaplain, of course no blood angel player will go without one. Your Death Company will be the first target the chaos player will try to take out, once they're in combat its gonna be your pred. anyway just lots of melta and assault cannons into the DP and tie up his units with assault units.

Scouts are they key to cutting down a demon prince, the other methods work for normal space marines, but blood angels aren't normal space marines.
Blood angels stack up very well against world eaters/heavy korn armies.
First BA are often faster, assault squads + black rage, is much faster then brezerkers with frenzy, or foot slugging.
BA have some units who can infiltrate.
BA have tend to have more heavy weapons.
BA have furious charge.
BA have the death company, this unit when assaulting has no equal, if one builds there army properly * within reason.
Korn is fearless.
Korn has +1 attack (except to death company)
Korn has more powerful characters.
Korn has demons.
So, now that you know this, you can start thinking up a plan.
Death company can out assault any single squad of berserker's, so put your death company on hunting down the average models.
Set your scouts on tying up the demon prince in CC, 2 squads of 8 scouts, should ensure he wont make it away - so long as nothing else gets involved.
Assault marines should be used to support the death company and scout squads, to add bodies, and tie units up, deny charges, ext.
Use infantry base, 5 man squads with lascannons, to blast away tanks and weaken the prince.
Use baals to soften the korn infantry/demons, and take objectives.
Good luck, for more help post an army list in the army list section.
Woops, missed the Blood Angel part. Too bad, 'cause I play the Angels too, and I could have given better advice.
