Im pretty new to the DIY chapter thing but i just have a few quick quesions...
1) Is it fesable to have a chapter using Imperial Fists gene-seed? (only asking because most chapters are from Ultramarine stock and the only 2 chapters i know from imperial fists are the BT and the CF)
2) Is it also possible for a "modern" chapter to use Crusade armour? or maybe a normal suit of "modern" space marine armour to be forged to look like crusade armour for all space marines within the chapter not just heros or commmanding officers?
3) Can a chapter have a home world and a crusading fleet at the same time?
Thank you for you time!
All of your questions are concerning fluff, not rules. You can, for the most part, write any fluff you want for your own chapter.
1) Other chapters using IF gene-seed? sure...why not? There HAS to be more then 2...they are a first-founding chapter.
2) I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by Crusade Armor. This is not a reference to anything in the rules. Again, write whatever fluff you want for your own chapter.
3) Sure, I'm sure the fleet would not be as big, but it would not be difficult to write a reason for this in your fluff.
Yeah, im not interested in the rules atm, i just want an authentic sounding chapter thats as realistic to the era, i dont want a chapter with parts that sound lame.
When i mean Crusade Armour, the Imperial Fists wore it during the Crusade
Thats the the armour i mean.
Actually Pulse, the linked image you have is probably Mk8 "Errant" power armour. None of the previous ones have the raised collar like that one.
However I understand what you mean by crusade armour; those are the power armor variants between Mk2 "Crusader" power armour all the way up to some marines having Mk6 "Corvus" (beaky head) power armour. (That would be Crusader, Iron, Maximus, Heresy, and Corvus are the names of all five power armour variants during the horus heresy and great crusade.)
Its easily feasable to have older armour for your chapter; they are just more heavily revered and maintained than Mk7 or Mk8 currently are.

I am aware of no chapters which don't have a space fleet. Some chapters lack a home world - but tend to make up for this with a massive ship, such as the DA/IF, although no all chapters are as lucky.3) Can a chapter have a home world and a crusading fleet at the same time?
Every chapter - that is not on the verge of destruction, has worlds it pulls recruits from. So in Essence all chapters have a space fleet, and some sort of home planet, with different levels of sophistication for each.
Most chapters have gone crusading, so its very likely a chapter would have both a home world, and has at one time or another gone on a crusade. However, black templars, are considered to crusader more then average chapters, and divert more resources to offense, as they don't have have a section of space which is purely theirs to protect. Such as the ultra marines who protect there home planet, and much of the surrounding star systems. Most chapters run a balance between sending forces to aid other sections of the imperium, or defend there own territory, and to join or lead crusade against an enemy.
In short, your chapter can do whatever it wants, without changing the fundamental nature of WH40K. For example, your chapter could lead a crusade into the eye of terror, but its highly unlikely your chapter could crush all the traitor marines, their demons, and gods. But your chapter could cause lots of trouble for them.
Yes, Imperial Fist geneseed is second in purity to the Ultramarines'. The sould Drinkers also have IF geneseed.1) Is it fesable to have a chapter using Imperial Fists gene-seed?
