I have just bought a "New" in box Baal Predator from Ebay. It turned out to be the MK1 with the metal heavy flamer sponsons and no heavy bolter option -DOH .
My question is, does anyone know which parts to buy to convert the sponsons to heavy bolters.
Alternately can anyone suggest how to get the equivalent amount of killing power from the heavy flamers.

Proxy them if you're not playing in tournaments. Anyone who won't let you is probably one of those stingy bastards.
As for effectiveness, against anyone but 'Nids - and then only maybe - the heavy bolter sponsons are superior. Longer range is the biggest advantage, and with six shots you'll get about the same amount of wounds as you would with the flamer.
You could maybe do something with the flamer tanks and greenstuff some ammunition belts. I don't know any places that sell Predator sponsons seperately, but you could try Ebay again.

Are you guys blind???? Look to the right of your screen see the link to Battle Wagon Bits. They got a bunch of them. You can also get IG bolters if you want to model something fancy
If you build a man a fire he will be warm for a night. If you set a man on fire he will be warm the rest of his life.
I would follow this advise. I let people proxy sponsons against me all the time as long as they mention it ahead of time. Best defense is to have a pre written army list with the correct sponsons on there. That way if you tell your opponent before the game you can also indicate it on your army roster or even give them a copy of your roster during the game. Proxying sponsons is perfectly acceptable in pick up games to save time and money with fellow gamers.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
You can buy some form battlewagon but the currencey thing maybe a pain for you(I dont know though)but they do sell two heavybolter sponsons for about $2.50, Or use IG heavybolters, file some of it off as it maybe to big and greenstuff some of it.As long as you don't play with it in a tourny people shouldn't care if you proxy or not.
And Lord spanko, chill,he may not have looked up there and known,he might not be able to do it at all.He is in england too it says you know,he may not want to go through the currencey crap.
