Should I invest in a cyclone ML in a wolf guard squad? I know you can move and shoot 48" but are they worth it? instead should I just go with another assault cannon?
I only have my Wolf Guard Battle leader who will have 4 other termies chillin out with him inside their suits.
I also have to ask, are the SW termies cheaper? We don't have to buy the terminator honours and the models are cheaper...? He he some metal termies that I can get are 8-9 USD (and I et a discount...) But really I don't have my codex on me and the question just hit me as I was writing this thread.
Thanks in advance

I'd take the Cyclones if you're lacking in other long range anti tank.
Otherwise, I'd go for the assault cannon.
I like to keep one of each handy so I can field the Cyclone if I feel like it.
Generally speaking, the AC is the better all-round weapon, and an insane tank hunter if it rends, but sometimes you just want a Missile Launcher, ya know?
My advice is to find an opponent willing to let you proxy a regular Termie as a Cyclone Termie for a few games, just to get the hang of it and see how it performs. Then you can decide if you want to get one yourself.
If you were playing any other chapter than the wolves, i'd say go with the AC, which is clearly the better all-round weapon, and since it is PRIMARILY anti-infantry, and which also allows the rest of the Guard to shoot their storm bolters (definitely anti-infantry guns) effectively.
But since you're space wolves...i'd go with CML. Lack of tac squads with lascans and Devs really hurt in the AT department, especially with the relative fragility of tank-busting SM vehicles (i never trust Pred Annihilators and Ven Dreds fully. NEVER. I always have some back-up AT). 2 MLs in a WG squad beats a Pred in survivability any day.
Considering that you'll have more than enough anti-horde (usually) with all those Blood Claws and GH bolters, i think wasting a few storm bolter shots a turn is fine.
If you do fire it anti-tank though (and I do know as wolves your options are limited) you're using a highly expensive squad to shoot 1 ML at a tank.
Assault Cannon compliment the Storm Bolters most of the time allowing greater flexibility and remain better than ML at basicaly, well, everything.
I'd go Assault Cannon, it's simply a superior weapon.

convert your Cyclone missle launcher into a mini missle gun platform that follows your termie around.
Its a nifty conversion and can be taken out when you don't want or need a cyclone and rather have an assault cannon.
If you pay for Tank hunters, 2 S9 missles coming from a termi squad is pretty good at dealing with tanks starting from turn 1.

And since i believe that the SW FAQ allows SW Termies to take the Tank Hunter SKill like vanilla termies, 2 Str 9 shots and lots of Str 5 storm bolter shots (vs. vehicles) should do some damage...
as for AC, i really like it, but it is NOT superior to the CML in one department : LONG range tank hunting - and that's what SW usually need! No offence meant, but IMO the ML is better than AC for SW...and SW only (probably)!
If you want a ML equivalent for SW, why not a pair of Predator Destructors with Lascannon sponsons?
Terminators are just too good to use in the role of low-shot ranged unit.

I play Deathwing, and have a completely modular force. I magnetized all of my arms and bought extra weapons. I can put Hvy flamers, AC, close combat weapons (I have enough for only two squads), or CML in any of my squads. I currently have 6 7-man squads and I really like it. I can choose to do what ever I want, if I need to loose a few points I can take one of the AC out and put a storm bolter back in.
I would just buy all the pieces that you think you would ever need and magnetize your force, so that you can have lots of variety to play with.
Also CML are good, since you get small blast shots for mob armies like Nids, or Orks.
IMO, i would go for the AC, ussualy always. Because, if you want to get into CC, then you will ussualy deepstrike or set up as close as possible, then your AC will be in range and will shred troops, and are better at killing armour the MC.
I would only take Cm in a Termie squad if i just sat back and shot with tank hunter, but then again you could just get 2 5man marine squads with plamsa rifle and a lascannon fo cheaper points and better fire power.
