I picked them before I knew anything about the game. I just was looking for another series of models to paint and the SMs looked cool. I started playing after I found out about the story line and fell in love with 40K.

The only reason Space Marines are considered Noobish is because it's GW's Poster Child. When I first saw Warhammer 40k being sold, I saw 5 Space Marine Terminators. When it said order here, it was a Space Marine Captain. Besides, Space Marines are the oldest army played. Just because they have good armor and good weapons doesn't mean anything. They're like 14 points each. My friend plays Eldar and he outnumbers me like 2 to 1. Plus, he has a Farseer Squad. You know how hard it is to get rid of them. Its like puilling teeth out of your own mouth. For all of you people who think SM are noobish really need to shut up, bc u don't know what your talking about.
I hate those guys.My friend plays Eldar and he outnumbers me like 2 to 1. Plus, he has a Farseer Squad.
I went all fluffy and I play White Scars. Just got to love that background. It's kind of sad, too, since my favorite models in the game are dreadnaughts. But now we're talking even more expensive points wise and way less models on the table. Some armies I do well against like Orks and IG, but 'Nids are tough. My win loss is at about 50/50. It's hard to deal with really tough creatures or tanks with Scars especially with no devastators or dreads or paying 155 pts for the 5-man Tac squad with las and razorback w/las.
But it's really fun to keep trying....
