Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am building up a tank free guard army and as such intend to let my credit card take a beating to pick up 3 heavy mortars and 3 thudd guns.
However I am seeking clarity on how the battery of 3 heavy mortars fire.
Do the heavy mortars range in and fire the same as a normal mortar battery but using the ordanance template. If so can the two templates after the first overlap / stack onto top of each other?
They fire together, like a normal barrage, just like ordinary mortars- so they don't fire independently. In a barrage the templates are never stacked on each other, they just touch at the edges. Heavy Mortars can cover a lot of stuff with 3 pie-plates.
So 150 points for a battery of 3.
1. Throw a normal scatter roll for the first shot (page 29 of rulebook; Ordenance Weapons)
2. Throw (ONLY) the scatter-die. On an arrow it lands next to the first template in the direction of the arrow. (the marker starts exactly where the first one ends) A Crosshiar means it hit exactly the same spot as the first. (page 31 and 32; Barrage weapons)
3. Repeat step two for every barrage weapon fire after the first.
its just like normal mortars, which makes Thudd guns reeeeeeally nasty, lots of template death, I was gonna do the same as you but with more, 6 heavy mortars and 3 thudd guns lol
fun fun fun
Am I the only one that can't find the rules for the thudd gun?
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
The good thing with thudd guns is although purchased as a battery they maybe deployed and fired independant of each other.
Which begs the question
3 heavy mortar and 3 thudd guns
6 thudd guns
6 heavy mortars
