I was thinking of how to make the whirlwind's minefields really good (instead of just marginally good)...
I guess I'd take 2 or 3 whirlwinds, and then use a librarian and a retinue in a drop pod and have the librarian spam FOTD, moving my enemy's models forcably through my mines. If my librarian turned up on time (turn 2) that would still be 4 or 6 ordnance-sized minefields (depending on how many whirlwinds I took). Thoughts?
Yeah. I do. Except the Librarian in question is not drop-podded, he's a Jump Pack.
It's my main army.
I also use a lot of scouts & a Veteran squad with Infiltrate rather than ground pounders. I've done well with it. And the funny thing is, I have only a single, 8-man sized Assault Squad in fast attack...
Yet it is in your face and hard to move from there.
I'll be changing it soon, but those 2 elements stay.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
Have you considered adding a Master to bolster your leadership, making that much harder to move?
