I'm recently starting a BA/Flesh Tearer army & I'm wondering w/c is more effective pointwise for said army: Assault Squad(can carry flamers or plasma pistol) or Veteran Assault Squad(can carry the above weapons plus meltaguns)
- They cost more than normal assault marines for little gain.
- Some of their options are more expensive than they should be.
- Meltaguns aren't really all that helpful on an assault squad. These should be used to charge enemy infantry, rather than taking potshots at heavy tanks. That's what lascannons and multi melta speeders/attack bikes are for.
Only use them in massive games where you have the points and only after you have used all your fast attack choices as the abilty to take metla or plasma guns does not justify the points hike. If you want anti-tank in your assault squads just take a powerfist or metla bombs.
"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
