Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi, this is my first post here (new to Guard but fairly long interest in 40K).
I'm trying to come up with a list using the Chem-Inhaler doctrine and I was wondering if I need to give it to Ratlings and Ogryns. I saw in a thread somewhere that this had been changed to "Any Guard infantry unit" but I couldn't see it anywhere in the GW FAQ.
My army is intended to be a cross between Savlar Chem-Dogs (but not using their doctrines) and the Snow Pirates out of Lost Planet (XBox 360) using FW Chaos Militia and Cadian plastics with G/S padding (and several Commissars to keep the scum in line).
I'm going to model the Ratlings and Ogryns with Chem-Inhalers anyway, I was just wondering about the rules (and points costs). Thanks.
I'm not so sure my self, but I believe that you don’t have to buy it for the Ratlings or the Ogryns I think, but like always I have been known to be wrong.
If you do things right people wont be sure if you have done anything at all.
No you can't give them to Ogryns and Ratlings as they are not Guard Infantry as per the codex, but I'm sure I would want to make either of those two units any weirder?!

Thanks for the replies, but I should have been clearer: the wording in my (early printing) C:IG has the bit about "In several of the following Doctrine descriptions, the term Guard Infantry unit is used..." on p55, but in the Chem-inhaler description it states "Costs +XX points per unit" but specifically does not state "per Guard Infantry unit". This means that Ratlings and Ogryns do need to take it.
What I would like to know is if this changed in later printings of the codex, as I cannot see it mentioned in the v4.0.1 FAQ.
