Hello all! I promised myself not to buy any more GW stuff as i've got other things to save for,but got this idea in my head and couldnt resist doing it!
Anyway its an Imperial Guard army based around the Xbox game Halo.I know some people may have already done this or thought of this but i thought i'd give it a go.This project will be carried out throughout this year and will probs start in February.I should be picking up the following:
x1 Kasrkin Serg (Master Chief)
x2 Cadian Shock Troop boxes (UNSC troops)
x1 kasrkin storm trooper box (ODST Troops)
x2 spacemarine landspeeders (warhogs)
x1 leman russ (scorpian tank)
From there i'll add more and more and will eventually bulk out the army.I'll be getting the codex first to work out unit sizes and wargear before starting any conversions.
I found someone who had already done this Frankie G's Pillar Of Autumn and will be using his conversions and models as a rough guide.
I like the idea of the devilfish used as a drop ship (IG Chimera) But i was looking at doing something more land based.
I came across the Imperial Gorgon Armoured Assault Transport and think it'd be a great idea as a transport. I had an idea of using a Forge World Valkyrie for the drop ship, but i'd have to extend the back, and i dont like the idea of chopping it up.
I could use a normal Chimea, but i'm not sure how i'd make it fit into the Halo theme.
Wait until Triumph Of Man sees this thread!
For the Master Chief i would use a grey knight as i feel that the rules for the knight wou;d better represent him as hes not THAT far off from being a marine himself. I know you can't just take 1 grey knight but im sure your friends would let you use him if its just a friendly game.
Why not have some fun and make up the rules for the Master Chief yourself.

FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
i could, but i may use Master Chief as an Inquisitor as i think he suits an =][= quite well.
Just get Pig Iron miniature infantry squads instead of kasrkins. I have 3 squads, their helmets and armor resembles that of a spartan and the black sergeant head of one of the soldiers can symbolize Sgt. Johnson, thats actually the original sheme of my army. But now that I am done with Halo, I started taking my ideas from F.E.A.R. Those Replica soldier uniforms are a lot better then Halo
Here is the website:
My next project will involve using Ironstorm tanks as a replacement for Chimaras.

wow! those models are awsome! (and cheap!)Hm....abit of converting on the guns and they'd look great! I think the helmets look too much like the Spartan helmets, while the UNSC helmets look more like the Shock troop helmets (but with visors)
Damnit! I always forget the sites name...
There is one site, where this one guy's Halo IG are featured, they are awesome! I ecpecially love his scorpion tank conversion. He made needlers and everything. The chief rocks, he even made cortana and keys!
Anywho, search teh web for it, great insperation!

Wheeeeee! Awesome! When you make him, just keep in mind that the Master Chief is ****ing huge. DOA4 provides an excellent size comparison of a spartan, and they're not much short of a Space Marine.x1 Kasrkin Serg (Master Chief)
Although it is ultimately your choice, I would never ever make the Master Chief represent an Inquisitor. Why? Because Inquisitors are weak, the Master Chief isn't. I'd feel myself more comfortable in representing him as a Space Marine hero (power weapon = energy sword).
If you really did want an Inquisitor, you could try making Lord Admiral Hood, or an ONI agent. Also, if you were interested you could make Sergeant Johnson a Vindicare Assassin seeing as sniping's his game in Halo 2.
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
if you think making master chief an inquisitor a bad idea, what role in an IG army would you assign master chief?
