I'm kinda new to the Guardsman, I just picked up my friend's army and started painting and about to try out a game or two in my local store. I'm not entirely sure about how Chimera's weapon works.
If I have a squad of Storm Troopers transported inside, can I fire its 6 hull-mounted lasgun at BS4? and at what firing arc? Can I move the Chimera 12" and still be able to pop open the roof to fire their meltagun?
I'm pretty sure you use the BS of the model when your shooting them,so stormtroopers are going to shoot them, I would assume they shoot with BS4.
Depends on what your shooting at, remember they have to have line of site to shoot. That means when you have an enemy on one side of the chimera and not the other, only the side that sees them can shoot obvious enough, so you would only fire three lasguns, and I believe they move as well with the arc thing.
I'm not too sure on the shooting after moving 12inchs. I know people move and shoot out of the top hatch with a melta but I'm sorry to say i'm not quite remembering the rules or anything on doing it.
What is the firing arc for the hull mounted lasguns? is it 90° arc like the basilisk shown in the rulebook?
I'm sorry to say I dont know. I dont think its like a basilisk fixed postion way. Maybe more like sponsons I would have to say, maybe.
The fire arc would be 45° on each side from the look of the tank for the hull lasguns.
As to the BS of the lasguns i would say that the hull lasguns would use the same BS that the Chimera uses as they are the Chimeras weapons even if someone eles is firing them.

"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
the rules for tanks state that you can not move more than 6"and still shoot so you cant move 12" and shoot.

page 45, imperial guard codex:It would seem pretty straightforward to me that you would thusly use the BS of the passengers when firing the hull mounted lasguns. The Chimera is fitted with six hull lasguns which can only be used by the passengers.
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
The Chimera lasguns are "hull mounted" hull mounted always equals a 90 degree arc and since they are facing the side, this is a 90 degree side arc. It specicifically states these are fired by the passengers so a squad of stormtroopers would fire them at BS4. Simple enogh?
As for the top hatch, you can fire any one weapon from it so long as the vehicle did not move more than 12" (read the shooting from vehicles part of the rulebook) and you cannot fire heavy weapons if the vehicle moved at all.
The weapons fired from passengers also do not have to target the same targets as the vehicle itself i.e. the hull lasguns and top hatch weapon must both attack the same target, but may engage a different target from the vehilces weapons.
Bitte, any more questions?

The BS of the Lasguns is BS3 regardless of the troops inside shooting as the lasguns are mounted, therefore are part of the vehicle, which uses the vehicles BS. I think it says this in the BRB
Because the Lasguns are rotatable, I think that they can shoot 180 degrees.
A troop popping out of the hatch will shoot using his own BS. When a troop does pop out, the vehicle becomes open topped.
My two bits.
