I was wondering if there was a centralized list of planets of the Imperium, from which to draw regimental titles from. That or a "system" of coming up with names for planets, beside drawing from history or myth (although GW does it, it seems a bit too obvious most of the time). Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
Ah yes, I should have thought to look up Wikipedia...so how do players make up their planet names?
Ill tell you a method that i use and thats to look in a foreign dictionary and pick out a cool sounding name and just change it a bit. (French is a good language for this)
If you don't have a foreign dictionary im sure you could find one online somewhere.
Lexicanum when it comes to warhammer related matters.
As for coming up with planet names, I just took a word and jumbled the letters around, adding in, removing and moving them around till I came up with one that I thought fitted in with the army idea that I had.
These are some of the names i got off of my Sabbat Worlds campaign map. If you can get your hands on the map then its a great name source. Im not shure if they make them anymore though. There are hundreds of planets listed.

Where did you get your Sabbat Worlds campaign map, who put that out? GW?
if you go to the black library website then i think you can find it. I found it on accsident so im not entirely sure where on the site it is
