Well. It says it all. TIme for a Change.
The minor disadvantage - We stand alone - is still true, but the major disadvantage is now Flesh over steel.
I'm keeping Heed the Wisdom of the Ancients, but will be using it to free up my Veterans and to actually have a set of viable heavy support after my new major weakness, What with Dreads being gone from the Elites selection in my view.
What 2nd advantage should I take that will fit in with the new system? True Grit needn't stay, so I decide to change if reccomended.
If you reccomend one, please tell me an idea you have for said trait.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
I'm first to the fight, eh?
Well I would say Cleanse and purify! It has been a favorite of mine. I use my Tac. Squads with two Plasmaguns, which works friggin' wonders. Aside from the fact that you get to shoot 2 AP2 weapons, it also makes my entire squad "Rapid Fire". If you would have a heavy weapon, it wouldn't be able to shoot at anything while you ran towards your enemy.
Another great one (which I also use:tongue: ) is See, but not be seen. It works great and really helps you get stuck in. I always get Rapid Fire in the first turn. It also gives you oppertunity to get your tank busters on the vulnerable side of a tank which is always fun. I don't know how well it will work out with your Vets though. Might consider drop podding them.
-Hope it helps
I am not using traits
I am regularly thinking of using them though.
I am playing Lamenters so preferred enemy: Tyranids would make sense. And the True grit one (cannot remember the name right now) and a s a disadvantage something that shows that there aren't many left.
I usually don't want to spend the points for all that stuff. So I always end up playing vanilla.
SO my siggestion: forget traits and just get more guys in
Shut up and play.
The question I have is this: what specifically are you using the Vet. Squads for? What apsect of those units attracted you to them instead of using more Dreads?
If you're using them for their choice of Infiltrate, FC, or TH, then I suggest your second Advantage be something that makes the rest of your marines just a potent(No Mercy, No Respite; See, But Don't Be Seen; Suffer Not the Works of Heretics) or allows your marines to compliment your Vet. Squads using one of those Advantages.

True Grit not doing it for you anymore?
Personally, I'd like Uphold the Honour of the Emperor, but your fluff says your against the Imperium (in a matter of speaking), so that really wouldn't hold up fluff-wise.
Since you dropped the uber defensive trait, how about taking the uber offensive route? No Mercy, No Respite could work for that. Watch your opponent fall under your strength.
Or, Take the Fight to Them, lotsa extra attacks is always nice.
