hey i thought up an idea for another army the basis being a fallen chapter of white scars
using the chaos codex to build a khornate biker force the reason for posting here is to gain advice as to what a marine cav army needs to keep it fluffy but competetive so primarily would like to hear from ravenguard, white scar and ravenwing players you know the basic stuff equipment, support even character roles
"take my love, take my land, take me to where i cannot stand, i don't care i'm still free you can't take the sky from meee" ;- firefly
"i'm gonna grant you your greatest wish i'm gonna show you a world without sin" ;- serentiy
"I am a leaf on the wind, watch how i soar" ;- serenity
Well that's all I could give you.
The White Scars use the "Swift as the Wind" Trait to allow them to take bikes as Troops. You could have 9 Bike Squadrons that way (6 Troops, 3 Fast Attack) That's a lot of Bikes on the field!
I'd also make high use of the Expert Rider skill.
As a Dark Angels player, I've used Ravenwing Bikes fairly often, and on countless occasions has the Expert (Skilled) Rider helped me get my bikes where I needed them.
Don't forget to give all your characters bikes too.
Well there are a lot of difference in chaos bikes from marine bikes. Typically marines field melta over plasma because it allows a charge - while chaos doesnt have to worry about that. White scars have that neat weapon, which doesnt have a special rules - perhaps khornate axes would be a good substitute.using the chaos codex to build a khornate biker force the reason for posting here is to gain advice as to what a marine cav army needs to keep it fluffy but competetive so primarily would like to hear from ravenguard, white scar and ravenwing players you know the basic stuff equipment, support even character roles
white scars also have true grit and counter attack - this makes no sence, fluff wise, or rules wise, i wouldnt bother giving them this power. Especially since your khorn bikes really need skilled riders.
Bike armies for marines keep HQ cheap usually, since the bikes are all so many points each. This allows more bikes. However chaos has many more options which could make fielding a more powerful HQ worthwhile.
