I need help buliding a 1000 pt and a 1500 pt army of Daemonhunters. I definetly want a GK Dred in it and a GK Land Raider. Maybe a Rhino with some stromtroopers. Can anyone help? I'm knew to the Daemonhunters and this web site. I've been playing eldar for about two years and have been on their site. I have about a 4000 pt Eldar army well painted but want something new.
whoa, calm down. Look you are used to playing eldar so i am going to say this. If you want something different than eldar dont go for daemonhunters. We are just as specialized as the eldar are, and just as hard to play. If you still want to go through, my suggestions are get 2 squads of gk and either an inquisitor lord or brother captain. I emplore you to just use these units first. Then see what you are going to want in your army. Dont go diving into this headfirst.
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
like Mrmeeper said, DH is a very specialized army. If you want something different, try out IG or Tyranid maybe. And in a 1000pt game, a Dread and a LR are a bad idea, in my opinion.
For 1k points, I'd take an Inquisitor Lord & retinue tooled up for long-ranged combat, and as many Grey Knights as I could squeeze onto the list. No Termies, no Land Raider, no Dread.
I was just wonder what to start collecting I going to start playing them this weekend. I want to get them ready for Baltimore. That's what the 1500 pt is for. I want to play Daemonhunters this instead of Eldar this year. I just need suggestions as detailed as possible so I can try different styles. I more of a smash mouth in your face type gamer maybe with a little support from a distance (ie... a Dread). Thanks.
DH is actually a pretty good army for just rushing in, thanks to Deepstrike. Take a lot of Grey Knights (2 as troops, as many more as you can as fast attack) & a Grand Master & retinue (mmm 8 termies Deepstriking). Give the troop GK psycannons so they are still effective as they advance. The Fast Attack ones should take incinerators. Maybe an Orbital Strike. If you have room after that and a Dread, you might want to add more Termies as an elite choice. If you take this setup, everyone in your army will have a S6 Attack (some of which are power or force) and rather effective weapons. No meatshield necessary, the opponent should be tied up with the incoming units. If I wasn't a GK player myself, I know *I'd* be terrified to see all that dropping into the midst of my army!
