Hi, I was thinking about converting a biker into a techmarine. Mainly because I thought it'd look cool. But on the other side I was wondering, is it worth the effort. Would something like this see play at all?
I'm planning on starting up Ravenwing sometime next week (when my battleforce and codex arrive by mail) and I'd like to include a lot of speeders. So basically the Techmarine should be able to repair em.. right?
Now on the other hand, it slows down Ravenwing big time. And not to forget, the "precious" elite slot.
1st) If a speeder is immobolized it is destoyed. that right there negates the best repair that a techmarine can do.
2nd) Without any servitors the techmarine will need a 6 to conduct the repair.
So there is only a 1 in 6 chance that your speeder will take damage that the techmarine can repair, and only a 1 in 6 chance that he can repair it.
Your better off throwing him into CC, or spending your points elsewhere.
Forget converting- there's a techmarine head and shoulderpad on the ravenwing sprue! Handy!
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
But you're right with the servitors. And rolling a 6 only isn't quite handy either. And given the non-upgradeable servi's you'll have a slow Tech anyway.
I guess I'd put this conversion idea on the shelf... it's not really worthwhile. I'm better off spending points somewhere else...
