I’d like to open up a discussion on which Cities of Death Stratagems you choose for your Guards. If you post your choices, please explain why you chose them. Depending on the amount of posts, maybe we can develop a Cities of Death Stratagems IG Tactica, by editing from this post.
Cameleoline Doctrine works very well in Cities of Death. With so much Cover in Cities of Death, troops in Cameleoline can be very hard to destroy.
I’ll open up with the Stratagems I consider using for my Regiment, choosing from the list dependent on what my army consists of, the Mission and the terrain.
Ammunition Store: This is a very good option for Heavy Weapon squads.
Medicae Facility: If you really want to keep control of a building, or to keep one unit from dying, this is an excellent choice. Good for Infiltrating Veterans, and for Storm Troopers.
Sacred Ground: This stratagem is useful if you need to keep hold of mission important buildings or choke points. Usually I would choose the Medicae Facility over this.
Demolition: If your opponent is predictable or is likely to take a strategically dominant building, this Stratagem can really spoil his day.
Fortifications: same as Medicae Facility. The high Cover save provided by Fortifications makes it very difficult to dislodge a unit defending the building. This is a very powerful choice for a key building. Fantastic when combined with Cameleoline Doctrine.
Master Snipers: I don’t own any, but this Stratagem would be excellent for Ratlings and Special Weapon Snipers, who will benefit greatly from decent Cover saves.
Comparing Barricades and Tank Traps, I think that the Tank Traps are more useful, as they still give a Cover save, and prevent access to most vehicles. My problem with this, is that it does not deal with Skimmers, i.e. Eldar, Dark Eldar, Necrons and the Tau.
Sewer Rats: There will always be enough Sewer markers to make it difficult for your opponent to watch them all. This is a great strategy for delivering units of Plasma armed Veterans and Storm Troopers, and Special Weapon squads into the rear of your opponent’s army. I normally take this.
Deep Strike: Required for Drop units.
Infiltrators: Required for Storm Troopers and Veterans.
ignore this post
sometimes i wish that you could take 3 demolisher tanks and destroy every building in the middle of your gameing board
orks on one side imperial gaurd bristling with guns on the other and no cover.........hmm.....imagine the amount of shootas and sluggas lying on the ground (like in gqames where the bodies disspear but the guns stay)
or can you do that
Againist Orks, I normally get a power generator which helps my lasguns shoot up the orks
