Do you have to paint and give the traits to the army to make it into the imperial fists, b/c i dont really like the trait they get or a bright yellow armor. so my question is pretty much. "can i take lysader in all his drop the termis right THERE glory, in a non imperial fists army?"
We all carry on,
When our brothers in arms are gone.
So raise your glass high
For tomorrow we die,
And return from the ashes you call.
I would think you could take "Lysander" in a list that has the same traits as the Imp fists, but painted differently. You can do that with a lot of other chapters, so I can't see why you couldn't paint your "Imperial Fists" in any colour scheme you like, so long as you pay for everything as Imperial Fists, and take traits like them I don't think anyone could fault you for painting them something other than Neon Yellow.
(short version, painting them a different colour should be ok, doing it without the traits, not so much.)
All of the above is for tournies and the like, in friendlies, well it all depends on what your oponent will let you field.

Colour scheme is really up to you, unless some tournament is really tight about it.
As for what traits you can use to accompany lysander, well, look at it this way.
Lysander is part of the imperial fist's army list. He is not part of any other army list. So you can either use the imperial fist's army traits and include lysander, or you can use other traits and NOT use him. Its that simple.
Otherwise, you might end up with people using Mephiston in an Eldar army, or a squad of gaunts mixed in with some cadians.
Basically, when using an army list, you are constrained to only the items in that list, uncluding special characters, and nothing from elsewhere! (unless it says so in the codex, but then, that would still be part of the army list).
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
all i wanted lol was to have lysanders teleport ability and see but dont be seen but ok that would be pushign it i guess.
But you CAN take Lysander (in an Imperial Fists army) without taking (any) traits as the Codex clearly states that "using the normal Space Marines army list without any traits is always a valid option, and is perfectly representative of these Chapters" (p.45, Codex: Space Marines).
So if you don't like the Imperial Fist traits, go play them without. But you WILL have to abstain from See But Don't Be Seen.
wait did you just want to infiltrate with teleport homers to bring in your termies.. you naught boy you.
Just use scouts then XD
