I have just bought a copy of Imperial Armour Volume 3 and turned straight to the 23rd Elysian army list.
The command squads are 5 points more expensive than those of the standard Imperial Guard codex. This is fine as it includes the cost for giving each officer iron discipline.
Has anyone noticed that the following units are also 5 points more expensive than the standard codex?
Anti tank squads, fire support squads, special weapon squads, mortar squads, platoon infantry squads.
Is this a misprint (possibly including the cost for iron discipline for squads rather than officers) or a deliberate higher cost to tone down the list?
Also the HQ command squad is allowed a total of six attached squads (0-1 AT squads, 0-2 Fire support squads etc). Is this ok?
As i no this is right, they do cost 5pts more.
I use the elysian Army list from IA4 D-99 as there are alot better.
Mmm...D99, shotguns everywhere
But anyways, ALL elysian units have iron discipline not just the officers, so you don't have to try and drop 4 infantry squads all within 12" of one officer. Fair enough?
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
yes it is all as per list, there is no amendment. but then there are numerous advantages for those 5 points, the ability to put demo charges into your troops, the fact that 23rd elysian officers are not ICs and aso make good carriers for PFs.
