    LO 40k Campaign

    Hey all,

Just thought I'd let everyone know that we're currently working on a means of allowing LO users to play in a single 40k campaign against one another from the comfort of their own homes (or wherever you use the internet).

Using the new Vassal 40k mod (more information can be found here http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ad.php?t=91765 (40k Online - The VASSAL Mod Clan) ), we're going to play an online 40k Campaign against one another!

As it stands, we're currently looking for a basic storyline, and a reason why each race would participate. That's where you come in! Post a quick explanation as to why your favorite army would get involved in the Campaign, and the Campaign Leaders will choose the best one for each race. Winner gets a prize (though we haven't yet decided what that'll be, rest assured that it'll be pretty nifty)! Post your ideas here: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ad.php?t=93223 (LO 40k Online Campaign, interested?)

Thanks guys, and hope to play you soon!

    Firedrake28

Sorry, couldn't seem to find the information anywhere, but how does VASSAL work? Is it a DoW mod? A separate program altogether?

It's a separate prog. See the link in the original post or www.vassalengine.org for more info.

Vassal is a program that allows us to create a digital table to place model and terrain sprites on. Vassal 40k also has a built-in dice roller, tape measure, etc. In essence, everything that you'd need to play a game of tabletop 40k on the computer is included.

Vassal 40k is not a Dawn of War mod, it's a separate program that can be downloaded using the link found in the Vassal 40k clan thread.

I'd like to join, but I suck in MS Paint.
If you think Mathammer doesn't work and dice cannot be predicted, there's a whole field of mathematics called probability that would like to disagree.

MS Paint? I'm lost. There's no need for MS Paint.

Count me in! :w00t: I haven't had a challenging game in ages.

    EDIT:

Hmmmm, I'm not sure I want to play with the IG, I've downloaded and it seems we're on the backfoot with some key units missing, particularly Plasmagunners (so no Hardened Vet goodness, or even plasmaguns in the basic infantry units) and the Basilisk. Also there are bits of missing wargear that are extremely useful, such as standard bearers.

The things you mentioned will be in the next major update, prob before the campaign starts.

Is there a bigger template too? The largest the game seems to have is a 3" which is the size of a small blast. the large ordonance template is 5" in diameter
