I went to my local store today to get a grandmaster for my IG but then I couldn't find one. Now my question is what model do you use to represent him or how did you convert one?

I use the Brother Captain Stern. He works good as he is, or you could convert him just for the fun of it. Mine currently has a selfmade psycannon, angelic wings (yes wings) and a shining halo, kind of like the one on the frontpage of the codex. All in all to give him a Divine look.
Although you could take any well-armoured unit and put on terminator arms, or of course take a terminator and spice him upp a little with more seals and a bigger, flashier weapon (it usually kills stuff in 1 blow so you better show it on your model to scare those pesky dameons of the board).
Anyway good luck with the guy. Coolest piece of metal on the field.
BC Stern seems to be almost universal as the base for a Grand Master. You could use the standard Termie BC model as well. Just spice them up however you want, I mean, considering the points spent on this one model, he should look frightening
My GM is a BC Stern with a Halbred (enlarged blade), Psycannon arm (just build a psycannon over Stern's existing arm if you want to) with Cypher's Backpack attached to it like a shield, Angel wings (hmm, trend?), and a couple of random details (like part of a Crozius to represent his IotJ).
ya, i too use the bc stern model. i modified it and converted his sword into a double bladed sword. Im not sure if i can use it tho;ugh, neither are any of my friends... if anyone knows about this, plz tell me!!!
why wouldnt you be able to use it - of course you can
Thats the beauty of the Nemesis Force Weapon. It really can be represented by any weapon you want it to be.
I converted mine from the blood angels librarian dude, mephi something
And I used the axe from the bloodthirster model for his NFW.
I adopted a cute lil' poison fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
my GM is not yet finished - but so far he has parts from many different models - the base is a regular GK termie with his head cut off
I took the straight-armed halberd and cut its blade off and modelled a bigger blade onto it with plasticard
I cut off the bottom half of the halberds pole and spliced on th shaft of the chaos sorcerers staff
I havent decided between sculpting a new face for the GM or finding one in the GW line
but I think I will pin the gun arm so it will be interchangable with a psycannon arm
hoping to be ready to prime it this weekend
I myself used the Brother-Captain model.
Past that, I drilled a hole in his hand and converterted it to be holding a brazier laden with purity seals.
Then, I cut the blade and some haft off of the halberd. Then glued two different swords onto it. One came from a GK Termie, the other came from an Empire Greatsword. Very nasty looking peice of work.
To follow up, I sawed his head off and replaced it with one from the DeathWatch sprue, filed his back down, and put swooping hawk wings on it.
Then for fun I got one of my friends who can write on rice to copy random phrases from the DH codex all over his armour. It is so awesome.
If a tree falls in the forest, and it lands on a mime, does anyone care?
Well, since a lot of you guys seem to be putting wings on your Grand Masters, I just have to ask; Does the wings give him somekind of a bonus or is it just for the looks?
Would be sweet with a Grand Master that could Move 12", then shoot 3 Psycannon shots, then charge 6" and strike those foul beasts down with his force weapon.
*Drools a bit*
