Hey guys, I wanted to create an all marine army (no vehicles) with my Blood Angels and I was wondering if that would get boring after a while? It seems like it oculd get repetative or... just boring. I would like advice from someone please . Thanks guys.
Yes and No.. probably not the answer you wanted, right? lol.
Anways, for years i played and would always field tanks and stuff, ALWAYS. But then in the last 2 or 3 years i've played against my friend ALOT of times and before he became Chaos Marines he was IG. Both of which have a vehicle that can shoot over walls, hills, etc etc. Or he would DS melta gun teams (when he was IG) by my tanks, so having tanks quickly became pointless and forced me into using infintry heavy armies. Pretty much all my armies are all infintry except for the use of speeders with multimelta's, which can take out enemy tanks real fast. And to be honest, fielding all infintry is fun, it puts a new twist on things and every battle is different. Personally I think you should try it, i think you'll enjoy it!
Hope this helped.

Imperial Guard = Soviet Army? Me thinks so.
I dont think an all infantry army is boring at all. With my DA army i have a list with no vehicles and it does really well.

A blood angels all infantry army would certainly be very good. I pretty much play all my marines like that with perhaps a few landspeeders with assault cannon. I find it very entertaining though i cant really speak for my opponents.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
Yeah, I play my Marine lists as almost strictly all-infantry. I have a couple Landspeeders that make it in...occasionally, and a Land Raider that I play, but even more rarely. If I had a decent drop-pod model, my dreadnought might see more play, but as it is, I only bring him when I'm proxying a bunch of drop-pods anyway.
I think the Infantry is really the selling point of the marine list (using the term loosely, here, to include Assault Marines.) Terminators and Devastators provide great anti-tank, tactical squads are good at all sorts of stuff (including anti-tank) and assault marines are great all-around. There just isn't a need in the list for vehicles--and Marine vehicles, I find, are much more crunchy than Marines themselves.
I guess the question was, really, does it get boring. The answer is that I'm not bored with it yet, and I don't anticipate becoming bored. It's true, I may try variations--like lots of bikes or whatnot--but the Space Marine is what got me into the Space Marine faction--not the vehicles--and I don't miss the tanks at all.
Personally, I don't like them. I find that all infantry is rather boring, for a few good reasons.
1) You have all infantry, something about tanks is just freakin' cool.
2) You are all going to footslog, cept for the assault troops.
3) All tank weapons will be concentrated on you.
I used to think the same way. Sure at 1700 you can get like 100 marines or whatever, but is it worth it? You sacrifice the scare factor of the tank, the fire magnets, and the moving heavy weapons. I used to only use a pred and that was it. Then I bought a whirlwind, a vindicator, a razorback, a dreadnought. I quite literally fell in love with tanks. Sure people call my list really cheesy cuz I have 4-5 tanks, but who cares about them. Unless you want an assault army use tanks.
JOIN MY SQUAD IN THE SONS OF THE LIBRARIUM THREAD, I NEED TACTICAL MARINES! I PLAN TO CONVERT UP A SQUAD TO "COUNT AS" LoTD IN MY SMarine ARMY
I run an all infantry list with my crimson fists.
It's quite effective and I still find it fun to play.
recon missions are a bit tricky, but if you focus on onjectives early on in the game you can still pull it off

I play Tau aswell as SM and , as a Tau commander, looking at my opponents side of the table and seeing nothing but 70-100 T4 3+ armored models looking back at me is a little unnerving. I'd rather see tanks, they are easier to kill.
I like both types of lists, right now I'm favoring one that has a few vehicles in it.
Oops, double post. Stupid CPU!
My recent Ultramarines list runs 76 Marines, 4 Servators, and 2 WW's. This includes- 7 HB 7 ML and a ton of bolters I think all-infantry or almost all-infantry adds a very nice aspect and is a little more chalanging as you have shorter movement.
