How to Model the Command Squad Champion?

I have an older command squad and now I need a champion. Any suggestions on how to do that?

Or what did you do (other than buy the new command squad) to model him???

I took the power axe and storm shield from the Assault Squad box, and put it on another marine.

I also added some things like tapestries and extra purity seals to finish off the look.

Great ideas! The shield is an issue for me.

What I did for my current Dark Angels one was file off the hand that is holding the shield, and just glue on the bolt pistol. Real easy.

I took the Emperors Champion model (link) and added the shield from the assault squad. Had to trim stuff off the shield. I've got him primed, but if you want I can snap some pics.

I just took on Marine legs and torso the right hand from a Chaos (I don't remember it was fantasy range!) the axe hand and used on the other hand a Fantasy range shield Brettonia! Purity seals were very nice...
