I am debating on whether I should buy a chimera or hellhound for my drop troops IG army. I was thinking of using the chimera to put my stormtroopers into if I cannot deep strike. Although I have heard many good things about he hellhound although it does cost quite alot of money.
For you guys that do have a hellhound, is it possible to switch between hellhound and chimera by removing or adding some parts?
Simple. Buy a hellhound when you want a chimera saw off the flamer thing and replace wit ha heavy bolter then alternate between the two. Sad, bored people with no lives may complain about the fuel tanks but just say they are to give the chimera a bit of extra grunt .
You could easily pin the tanks onto the side, with just two small holes left over when you’re not using it as a hellhound. I am not sure if you can buy a turret sprue for a chimera separate but if you can you could buy a 2nd turret for it and swap them when you want a change.
Actually my hobby store was sellign a 3nd edition hellhound half off so I bought to be cheap chimera and I was thinking of converting it so I could switch between.

you can glue a pair of flamers on to the chimeras turret ad use it as a hellhound or chimera with heavy flamer
