Hey there everyone, it's another rare Daemonhosts questions thread. I've felt like making a radical inquisitorial army for quite some time with Space Marines, and I've been playing around with two ways I could include them in my army:
The first is the standard means of doing it, and that's taking DH base with Space Marines allied.
The second is taking the Space Marines as a base and including an Inquisitor Lord and Daemonhosts.
So far I'm leaning towards the Space Marines as base, since I don't really care much for Inquisitorial Storm Troopers or any of the assassins. I planned on making it a predominantly assault based force, with a Chaplain and assault squad. I was also planning on kitting out the Inquisitor for shooting duty, so I can free up my devastators for anti tank and MEQ roles.
But I'm getting a little too far ahead of myself. I can't find anything in the codex about it being wrong, but I just want to make sure it's alright. I was also wondering about what the opinions of others would be on such a union, and how effective it would be in their eyes. I plan on making it fluffy with a custom chapter that has a same type of mentality of the Inquisitor: Destroy the enemy at all costs, even if it means using the foul powers of the warp.
The problem with a base marine chapter is your only going to be allowed to field a maximum of 3 hosts in the one elite slot allowed to you from allying. If thats enough hosts for you then by all means go for it
I'm not here for the respect, just here to spread the clarity of a very complicated game
It would be 3 as a single elite choice either way since its a 0-1 choice.
I haven’t used marines with my Radical list, instead I use guard. But I guess if you don’t want to use storm troopers the best way to go is Space Marine base.
But I will advise you a Radical list will prob not win games due to the daemon host never making points back it’s more a novelty unit. That’s why my Radical army is for fun and my Puritan army is for spreading the word of the Emperor into the faces of my enemy’s.
Like to here how it goes brother. May his word be spread, BY ANY MEANS NECCESARY!
