Hello all you gaurdsmen! how are you. I am a current SM player that is rather annoyed at the lack of armor i have, so im going straight to the source. Now to business.
has as anyone here played, or played against an armored company? Because i REALLY want to try it as making tank models is all i like modeling. So, is it ever really done, or is it WAY to expensive?
P.S (if i did do it, would the vanquisher be a good tank to field?)

Allot of IG do an Armored Company because of love of tanks and it is much cheaper then a normal guard. I'm actually doing an AC list as a side project for fun. The problem with AC is that you will either steamroll the enemy or the enemies will steamroll you.
If you do things right people wont be sure if you have done anything at all.
but that's what happens when you field so few models for so many points. the enemy will either have what it takes to counter you or won't be able to dent you.
personally i belief that the guard are for the guardsmen and try to keep my army lists either balanced between meat and metal (90 men with 5 tanks in 1500) or just all out manfodder.
It also depends on why you want to play the army, if its for tournaments well sry as of a couple of months ago AC is no longer a legal tournament army, But if its just for fun go for it I have a Blitzkrieg AC list with armored fist squads and tanks.
