I have lots of 40k Tourney experience, just not Space Marine lists. Here is my idea, but it is conceptual so I don't want it in the Space Marine Army Lists section. I want a themed list (flying with lots of Jump packs), but wanted it to be competitive.
HQ - Master who would drop with Elite Terminators and two Assault Cannons.
Troops - 2 x 6 man squads with Lascannon/Plasma Combos. These would sit back and shoot tanks or Monstrous Creatures.
Fast Attack - 3 x 10 man Assault Marine Squads. Each with Veteran Sgt. w/power fist and teleport homer. Two Marines would have Plasma Guns. All would have Melta Bombs and Furious Charge.
This would put the list at around 1500s. For a bigger point value, I would take more troops of the same, with a Chaplain.
How would this list do in a Tournament?

I would drop the Master and remember that it is not sure they will arrive all together or in the same place except if you play Imperial Fists...
I would take a Chaplain with Jump Pack to accompany one Assault Squad... These will put the particular Assault Squad to a terrifying effect... But that's just me!

I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
Hope you don't run into any sort of horde army that favors melee (orks, nids), you don't really seem to have much of a model count against that sort of list. Personally, I've never been a fan of the 6-man las/plas tac squads, they just don't do much for me in the way of fun.
Good luck with it though.
Games Workshop is the Wal-Mart of hobby products, except for the low prices. The lack of respect and profit mongering is there in spades.
The Master isn't that great for a deep striking/drop pod army unless you're worried about taking to many points in your HQ. Try a Librarian. Also, use a terminator command squad instead of a normal terminator squad. This way you won't have to make separate reserve rolls to get them on the board. If you want more than 4 terminators with your HQ choice then deep strike them instead of drop pod (drop pod has a maximum squad size). To keep from scattering I would put a teleport homer or two in the assault squads.
The Chaplain with a jump pack works wonders with an assault squad. When I run a chaplain with an assault squad I usually take the trait that allows me to give furious charge to the assault squad. It makes for an expensive unit, but it eats up just about anything.
Your tact squads seem weak. I wouldn't put a long range weapon (lascannon) with a short range weapon (plasmagun). Pick one or the other. If you want long range anti tank take one or two dev squads with missile launchers. More efficent for the point wise. Then give your tact squads either melta or plasma guns for the added oomph.
In the assault troops did you mean to say you gave them plasma pistols? By my esitimate you're putting nearlly 900 points into those three squads. Make sure they have a PF so if they run up against some high toughness monsters they can still do something.
So to summarize: Librarian would be preferable, take a term command squad, deep strike. Drop either the lascannon or the plasmagun from the tact squads and take dev squads instead. Make sure to give your assault squads a PF Sergeant. Try a Chaplain attatched to the assault squad.

However, it does seem very very close to an army list.
