Hi im gonna make my own chapter and i was wondering wat units do you like to use most or preform best on the field of battle ?
Tactical squads, 10 men with a meltagun, or plasma gun, and SGT with power fist, take about 3 of them for 30 men, and you have yourself a stable core force, able to move every turn without wasting a heavy weapon shot
Predators, again very useful, take twin-linked lascannons and heavy bolter sponsons and it can keep in line with the infantry while they advance
One unit I always include is my infiltrating devastator squad with 4 Missile Launchers, it's the most effective Anti-tank unit in my army.
The drop-podding Dreadnought is also a common feature, as well as scouts in one shape or form.
Recently I've included a whirlwind using castellan missiles just to annoy and to some extent redirect enemy troops with those minefields.
But as stated, pretty much any unit will be effective in conjunction with other ones, there are very few that are effective on their own. Best advice I can give is start out with what you think is just cool stuff, and then play a few games and add things you wouldve needed when you played.
Space marine chaplains with assault squads. They are indespensible. Really one of the best point for point HQ's in the game.
Then a venerable dreadnought with extra armor, that thing is nigh impossible to kill. Just make sure it has its Dread CCW for ignoring armor saves in CC.
Turtles For the Turtle God!
Shells For the Shell Throne!
A techmarine with 4 combat servitors coming from a drop-pod with an attached Chaplain//librarian. very powerful!
or like said before a Venerable Dreadnough, but if it's gonna be CC then have it drop-pod, and use a heavy flamer!
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
i gonna use a Dread no matter what i find its one of the coolest models in the codex
drop pod sounds ok to use him with...
The most affective unit in my armies are the humble land speeder tornados in squads of 2. 8 rending and another 6 St5 shots. They can hit light infantry and potentially kill hard stuff (like wraithlords). All the while zipping 12" to get glancing hits or 24" to claim objectives.
Black Templars 3000 points
Tau Empire 1750 points
Tyranids 1500 points
Hordes of Chaos *Coming soon*
