Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok, we have been in a debate about which is better? so i thought i'd open it up to the fourm.
I think that they both have their place, but where would you sink your points?
Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
I went with sag. Reason being, you give the Inquisitor a better BS and with two you can reroll a miss. With a mystic you can shot at a DSing unit. Two mystics allow you to have a to have a unit that is with in 12" to fire at the DSing unit. If you fight alot of armies that DS then the Mystic is the way to go. If not the Sage is the way to go.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
It really does depend on who you're playing against. Against an army that can't deepstrike at all, the Sage would be the better choice, but against an army that can (and does) deepstrike, you might be better off with the Mystic. Yes, the Sage is useful all the time, and the Mystic only sometimes, but being able to take out half of a deepstriking unit before they get to do anything can't be undervalued.
Mysterious Member of the ANZAC Clan
Sage first (two if you have a PC servitor), then one mystic. For any shooty Inquisitor (which the vast majority of Inquisitor builds should be), the bonus to BS is much more universally useful. I personally build my elites-choice Inquisitor with 2 HB servitors, 1 PC servitor, 2 sages, and one mystic.
Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
If you're intruiged by doctors who are also ninjas, then this is the webcomic for you!
sage, for the most obvious reason...
no matter what army you face, the sage will benefit you, in an all comers list, this is what you want.
a mystic only helps you against an army that will deepstrike guarunteed. so yah... just some thoughts.
I voted Sage, but my preference would be that GW would combine them into a single profile when next the codexes get revised.
sage all the way. for a shooty inq it's a must i think. and if you have plasma in your retinue, ie plasma cannon, for sure 2 sages
My =][='s psycannon hardly ever misses because of their pet sages. Mystics are a luxury only my Great Lord =][nquistor= can afford...
Much must be risked in war.
Blood Angel Stormraven Conversion Work In Progress.
I think Inquisitor_Eljer raises a good point here and if I may, I will probably add this to a list of things that the next codex could improve upon next edition. I'd like to see Inquisitor retinues more recognisable as 'the one that boosts shooting ablities' and 'the one who boost assault aspects' rather than two different ideas that both represent a similar aspect of warfare. Perhaps GW just wants any left over pocket change by doing this, I dunno.I voted Sage, but my preference would be that GW would combine them into a single profile when next the codexes get revised.
the shooty inquis squad that i always takes has two sages in it for the BS upgrade and the reroll. It also has a mystic, but in a lot of games it ends up being a soak wound.
