I am putting together a radial daemonhunters army in my spare time, and was wondering about ideas for an Inquistors army if he and his men became tainted with chaos, such as what to choose, and how to outfit the men.
max out on Daemonhosts, and take a lot of IST's/inducted IG, as they're just normal men and can succumb to Chaos much easier. You could do an army with a traitor SM chapter using standard SM (not CSM) rules, but it'd probably be much easier if you just used IG for this one.
thanks, should i use regular inquisitors as well?
Don't forget lots of tires for your "radial" army. HA!
Okay, that was a bad one. Sorry.
Hahaha. I cant believe i didnt catch that one. THats funny.
I would go with sm's they are a much better choice than ig. Another question arrises, why would you induct more T3 units with lasguns when you already have an abundance of them (stormtroopers are just guardsmen with a better armor save bs and an ap of 5 woo hoo) space marines are by far just a better choice.
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
Yes Space Marines would be more in keeping with the fluff and probably more effective. I have thought about a radical army myself and I would use either Exorcists (Marines that allow themselves to be possessed, then drive the Daemon out) or Relictors (Marines who use Chaos weapons and artifacts) as allies. Both are very well-suited to accompanying a Radical.
Also, keep in mind that most Radicals are not TRULY "tainted by Chaos" (though Puritans would say so), they just attempt to use Chaos against itself, and get a little caught up in elaborate plots and whatnot (i.e. where Puritans would kill Chaos worshippers on sight, a Radical might try to infiltrate them and gain information, or trick them into doing something that *****ed off their god, etc.).
If you want to do a Chaos corrupted army, I still doubt the Inquisitor would use openly "Chaotic" troops, so the standard Radical choices (Daemonhosts and Death Cultists) apply, and basically the same allies (as mentioned above) since a corrupt Radical would probably just have to trick "fringe" loyalists into following him. Essentially, same choices, different fluff. If you want an army that looks and feels Chaotic go with Chaos Marines or LatD. An Inquisitor who was open about Chaos worship would be an Inquisitor no longer (nor anything more than a pile of char, I imagine).
trick? heck, he's an inquisiter. Weather he is speaking heresy or not, your in trouble if you don't do what he says. If an inquisitor is disobayed, the offender is rebelling against the emperor (in the radical inquisiters logic), no matter how loyal to the emperor the regiment may truely be. More often then not, a radical inquisitor, even one heavily corrupted and summoning deamons and whatnot, will requisition all of the troops he can if he knows there is an orthadox inquisiter on his way.Originally posted by Daemonscourge@Mar 7 2004, 07:19

I suppose that's true ... my logic was that the Inquisitor would be stripped of his rank by the Conclave if he was found to be in league with the Chaos Powers, so no one would be bound to follow his orders, but if whatever saps he was ordering hadn't heard (and IG probably wouldn't) then they'd still obey. Also, there's always the threat of the Inquisitor killing you if you don't do what he says, heretic or no.
Marines, though, wouldn't need to fear a lone Inquisitor who was declared Excommunicatus, and certain chapters (like the Wolves) even resist the Puritans. Trickery might be in order there.
maybe, but only if by "stripped of his rank by the conclave" you meen that he was brutally murdered.
