I think we'll all agree that the Exorcist is a fine tank (obviously the best we've got), but what would you change if you could suggest to the Tech-Priests on the ForgeWorlds as improvements to the Exorcist?
1) Allow side sponsons...Heavy Flamers at 5 pts, TL Heavy Bolters at 10 pts, and TL Multi-Meltas at 15.
2) Add a cupola mounted Storm-Bolter as standard equipment
3) Make the Launcher fire 1d6 +1 missile per turn. (I'm tired of rolling 1's on missile count rolls!)
4) Blessed Armor at 15 points - Reduce all Glancing & Penetrating hit rolls by -1 to a minimum of 1.
I think options 1 & 2 are semi-realistic, 3 might be pushing it, and 4 would be much envied by other armies.
What are your thoughts? Also, if you could make a VDR version (assuming someone could actually provide a cost for the Exorcist Launcher), what would you build?
Nah. I think it's good how it is right now. Besides, the advantage of rolling a 6 on missile rolls comes with the disadvantage of rolling a 1. That's how the game works.
I would like to see side sponsons on the exorcist even if they were only flamers or heavy bolters, just to give the thing a reason to live. Every other big tank with a big guns gets them why can't we?
Legion Of Everblight: Abyslonia
Protectorate of Menoth: Grand Exemplar Kreoss
Sponsons would help keep the missile launcher alive longer.

I think it's kind of funny that we're talking improvements to arguably the best tank in the game.
That said, in a perfect world, I would want one of the following enhancements:
1 - Like the new Eldar codex, lose the d6 shots and make it a constant. The Scatter Laser was d6, it's now 4. The Exorcist should be Heavy 4.
2 - For Weapon Destroyed results, the missile launcher isn't destroyed, just the number of shots. D6 -1 for first, D6-2 for second, etc. Min 1 maybe.
If you did sponsons they should cost more than on an IG tank, not less. Twin linked, BS4, and can fire with the main weapon, as opposed to non-twin linked, BS3, and the main gun is ordnance... same price?
... although we won't be seeing any changes to the inquisition codices for another couple years... if they are making changes to them at all. :x
Anima Tactics - try it out!
Reduced front armour value and indirect fire would be what I'd like, but that would bring to something similar to the Space Marine Whirlwind so probably won't happen.
I know the Exorcist is a great tank, but I am baffled why 'most' of the other Imperial Heavy Tanks get sponson mounted weapons and we don't. (Leman Russ & variants, Predators, Land Raiders, etc.)
The sponsons would be great 'fall-back' options for when the main launchers were down or for when facing Horde foes...the mobile Heavy Flamers or Heavy Bolters could be quite the help. :-)
