what are peoples views on this new super heavy tank from forgeworld,
its lighter than most previous with only 2 structure points and the front armour looks a bit low at 13
but it does look sweet (but all fw stuff does)
7 heavy bolters, and a demo cannon (2 of the hb's are upgradable to heavy flamers or lascannons)
wow.. that thing could wreak havoc amongst lightly armed infantry, that thing is definitely an infantry killer. I've never seen anything with so many guns, god if it only had 14 front armor it would be unstoppable. I want one! its somewhat ugly though, but i suppose that was the goal, like a moving fortress.
I would probably never use this tank. It's a massive target, the weapons are oddly placed (even if it is a super heavy), and you'd likely be better off using a russ or exterminator and a demolisher.
All of that said I love the model, very smoke belching clanking death machine esque. If I ever bought from forgeworld I would be very tempted to have one of these around for display.
Veni Vidi Variant
I came, I saw, I got a different type of Leman Russ.

Rules for grenades are on page 72 of the rulebook.
For the point cost you could do a lot beter. Agaisnt almost any choice it would be poped. Even the fluff states its not that strong of a tank. The only realy good tactic would be to place it into the center of your enemy and fire away but geting it there is another story.

On the other hand, that is a SWEET model. And I could totally see that being the centerpiece of some high points armored company. If you could use other tanks to block LOS, then move them out of the way and have this unleash hell, that would be cool.
Turtles For the Turtle God!
Shells For the Shell Throne!
for some strange reason (being an avid FW fan) i find myself disliking this model.
Let me analyze:
I think the tank has the appearance of being a light tank, blown up to super heavy size.
i also think it's too long
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

FW is still being a bit unclear wether this will be a Heavy Support choice or Superheavy. There are evidently a couple versions of the experimental rules floating around.
So as a Hvy. Support choice this would cost the same as 2 stripped Demolishers. You'd basically be trading 1 Demolisher Cannon and the ability to be in 2 places for 5 Heavy Bolters and the ability to fire at more targets.
The rules for Superheavies make them unatractive to me, since the chance to play 2500 + pts. are few and far between. If this ends up being a possible HS choice though, I'd be sorely tempted...
