Hey all I have an AC which feilds al heavy bolters instead of the lascannons on every tank. I went with this thinking its beter to have the tank fire off 9 shots instead of just the lascannon. Anyone think this was a mistake considering its in a AC with around 6 leman russ?

I dont see there is a problem with that. With AC in play, you can get special tank like Vanquisher with s8 + 2d6 for anti tank. Or just use a Demolisher with it's str 10 cannon to blow tanks up with rolling ordence table.
3 heavy bolters are cheaper and offer more shots, if you dont feel lucky with scatter dice it is safer just spray heavy bolter at enemy troops. If you have extra points, give them all heavy strubber and make it a 12 shot tank, that is just even more fun
yea, I have one all HB russ w/ heavy stubber that I always use, and it works far better than my HB sponsoon/LC russ. As mentioned, with AC you do have access to great anti-tank weapons. The sheer weight of med ap med str shots you can put out means that even marines will take decent casualties, and against any 4+ sv units not in cover, it becomes a slaughter.
Battlesuits, putting the BS in BullS*%t.
consider the hellhound, or two, with a pintle weapon and they can be very useful against troops and those in cover.
