I recently picked up 6000 points of space wolves stuff (100 marines, 30 terminators, some DH stuff and assassins, 5 Rhinos, 3 Predators, 4 Land speeders...u name it) friend of a friend was retiring and wanted out cheap...some painted, some not...no problems in dipping them all and repainting from scratch...but that would be more work...a ton of the models (30ish?) are actual space wolves models with fur on them and such. Here is my question?:
Are space wolves as competative a chapter as the rest? Would it be more wise to just piece out the wolf lined stuff and repaint ad a different chapter? Would it be wise to wait until the chaos codex comes out and then I could repaint all 100 marines and 20 vehicles in dual-purpose colors>? Im curious on thoughts....
If wolves rock...then thats great too...I dont have the codex for them and BA are looking really nice in the re-do...so...thoughts?
Space Wolves eat face. In the best possible way. Angry, fanged barbarians with 3 power fists per marine. Serious. It's a natural evolutionary adaptation. Nature decided they couldn't eat enough face with just 2 fists, so they developed a third fist-hand.
So yes. Space Wolves are super awesome.
Wait.. space wolves have three hands?
Space wolves are still very competative, and those pelts look very nice if your a good painter. Fluff wise they are fun, and game wise that are still tough for being outdated.

Space Wolves have the best story. They have more back story as well.
Competitively they do fine. They are as viable as any other marine force. Blood Claws (a space wolve unit) are deadly and cheap. They have a lot of thing going for them.
Their scouts can deploy from reserves in your opponents deployment zone.
Yeah, turn 2 melta shots at that basilisk.

Space wolves can be a very competative army to play. You just have to keep in mind that they are very CC oriented but require some finesse to get them to function well.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
Mine is a beautiful,if overly complex,language.
Basically what was meant is that Space Wolves can have so many power fists that you can almost expect any given pack to be made up of nothing but strength 8 face-munchers.
In Wumpanese, this can be translated to the following: Space Wolves eat faces.
